Relics are a new item introduced with the Elderwood in Palia patch 0.191. They grant party buffs across the whole map as long as everyone is on the same server. However, you can't just buy a Relic at a shop in Kilima. There are a few steps to obtaining most relics, as well as crafting and upgrading them. This is the complete guide to Palia Relics.
Relics Explained
How to Buy Relics
To purchase any Relics, you'll need to complete the Pieces of the Past quest. This introduces you to the Artifact bundles and unlocks Elouisa's Artifact Store. There are two Relics you can straight up buy: Artifact Tracker for 1 Elouisa's Fun Buck and Treasure Tracker for 3 Elouisa's Fun Bucks.
Artifact Tracker: A tracker that allows you to find artifacts hidden in the ground.
Treasure Tracker: A tracker that allows you to sense when treasure is nearby. Has a limited range.
How to Craft Relics

The other four items available in the shop are schematics. When you purchase these, you'll be prompted for a quest from Elouisa. Each schematic has it's own quest. You'll need an Enchanting Runestone to craft each Relic.
- Bag of Illusion Schematic: A schematic for the Bag of Illusion. Allows you to gather infected forage without needing to consume an Infected Potion (Elderwood Potion). Further upgrades unlock the ability to gather other types of infected fauna.
- Unlock Requirement: Learn how to hunt or catch infected wildlife.
- Cost: Elouisa's Fun Buck x1
- Quest: Master of Disguise
- Items required:
- Muskin (Mushroom Leather) x12
- Elderwood Orchid x15
- Enchanting Runestone x1
- Brighteye Amulet Schematic: A schematic for the Brighteye Amulet. Gives you a buff to all infected essence gathered when equipped. Further upgrades increase the buff percentage.
- Cost: Elouisa's Fun Buck x1
- Quest: Essence Hunter
- Items Required:
- Palium Bar x6
- Ogopuu Skin x10
- Enchanting Runestone x1
- Elderwood Idol Schematic: A schematic for the Elderwood Idol. Allows you to track infected forage across the map. Further upgrades allow you to track infected hunting creatures, insects, and fish as well.
- Cost: Elouisa's Fun Buck x1
- Quest: Visionary
- Items Required:
- Whitestone Slab x12
- Grumpy Granite Rockhopper x12
- Enchanting Runestone x1
- Guiding Lantern Schematic: A schematic for the Guiding Lantern. When equipped it buffs the tiers of the other relics, up to a max of Tier II. Further upgrades raise the maximum tier.
- Cost: Elouisa's Fun Buck x1
- Quest: TBD
Elouisa will then give you items necessary to craft the Relic. When you have them, return to her to obtain the recipe for crafting it. Then you want to head to the Relic crafting station. These are found in the gazebos behind the Central Stables sign.
Interact with the table and select the recipe you want to craft. When finished, return to Elouisa to complete the quest.
How to Equip Relics

Relics have their own slot under Accessories when looking at your character profile. It's between your Pet and Glider slots. You have to be near the Relic crafting station to change the item you have, so you can't swap them out while wandering around the Elderwood.
Click on the slot, then select the Relic you want to use. The Artifact Tracker and Treasure Tracker are always on and don't need to be equipped.
How to Upgrade Relics
The next time you open Artifact Store you'll see that a new recipe has replaced by the next tier of the relic. This continues until you purchase the Tier IV recipe for the item. Each tier increase increases the price of the item by one, starting at Elouisa's Fun Buck x1. Artifact and Treasure Trackers do not have upgrades.

Once purchased, you can head to the Relic station to upgrade it. If you're actively using the relic you want to upgrade, you'll need to unequip it. When the upgrade is finished you can equip it again.
