Making your way through the different days of Metaphor: ReFantazio you'll be spending your time completing quests, becoming closer with your followers, or even tracking down some Gold Beetles. In your search for power though you're likely going to come across the Royal Archetypes, a secret final level of Archetype that only unlocks after an event that takes place in the game on 9/24.
This guide will go into some late-game mechanical spoilers for Metaphor: ReFantazio so if you don't want to get spoiled then don't read too far ahead, that being said if you want to make sure you meet the requirements for the Royal Archetypes as soon as they become available to you then read on for those.
The spoilers for Royal Archetypes in Metaphor: ReFantazio will begin after the image and a guide for how to grind out A-EXP in the end-game to ensure you have a full team of Royal Archetypes is at the bottom of this guide.

On 9/24 the Protagonist will unlock his Royal Archetype, this is The Prince. This Archetype is an incredibly powerful Almighty affinity Archetype with an ability to resist all damage types. Not only is The Prince going to become your primary damage dealer for the rest of the game, especially if you have any intention of taking on the Trial of the Dragon super-boss questline, but the unlocking of The Prince also means that all of your other party members will now have the chance to unlock their own Royal Archetypes.
Each party member has their own unique Royal Archetype based on the Archetype that you formed your relationship with. For example Strohl is representative of the Warrior so he is able to obtain the form of Royal Warrior and Hulkneberg can become the Royal Knight, but Strohl is not able to become the Royal Knight.
Royal Archetype Prerequisites
Each Royal Archetype requires the character to have reached a certain level in two or three other Archetypes, by using this guide you'll be able to make sure that as soon as the Royal Archetypes become available you'll be able to unlock them. The one requirement that they ALL have in common is that you must be at Rank 8 with that Follower for the Royal Archetype to even be possible to learn. Best Late-Game EXP Farming in Metaphor: ReFantazio
If you've found that you've reached near the end of the game and you're still a ways off from getting a full party of Royal Archetype characters then the room right before the final boss of the game is the perfect place for late-game EXP farming.

To perform this trick you need to be at the Melancholia Depths of the Tyrant Star, and you need to have defeated the human out of the bottom-right most passage. Between the final boss, where the Akademia cat is and where the final optional Human battle is there are five Trance Crystals, these are the flower-like crystals that spawn enemies. If you defeat all of these in the area without engaging in combat with the creatures they summon you'll get a massive amount of experience.
Once you've defeated all Trance Crystals you simply need to leave the area out the bottom-right and then return and the five Trance Crystals will have respawned. If you do end up in combat accidentally then just escape from combat and continue to attacks the Trance Crystals directly.

Grinding this method can be improved with the following options:
- High relationships with all party members, will improve their ability to gain EXP when not in the active party
- Fortune's Grasp Gear - Can be obtained from the Coliseum and will increase the Archetype EXP gained
- You can ensure you're able to level up specific Archetypes even faster by equipping Archetypes that are already at Rank 20 to your party members, then instead of gaining direct experience they will generate A-EXP gaining items like Hero's Jewelled Root and Hero's Leaf of Light.
For each run of this I completed I would gain 5x Hero's Jewelled Root and 21x Hero's Lead of Light which would amount to 36,000 A-EXP for extremely fast levelling.
