Luma Island Blacksmith Guide

Our Luma Island Blacksmith Guide will go over how this metalcrafting profession works, including what you'll need for each crafting recipe.

Blacksmith in Luma Island is a 2-star difficulty profession, with the focus being on mining ore then smelting it into bars that can be used for various metal crafting recipes. The profession NPC is Sylvia, who generally hangs around the forge near the town entrance.

The Ore Smelter crafting station is available to all characters at the start regardless of professions, but you'll be putting it to use a lot as a Blacksmith. Bars only require one ore each, though the amount of charcoal needed increases based on the tier.

Ore tiers are as follows:

• Farm Cave - Copper and Bronze, 2 Charcoal per bar
• Forest Cave - Iron and Silver, 4 Charcoal per bar
• Mountain Cave - Moonstone and Gold, 8 Charcoal per bar
• Jungle Cave - Volcanic and Platinum, 16 Charcoal per bar

Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum Rubble must all first be processed in a Rubble Refinery and turned into ore before you can make bars from them. This requires rocks from that mining tier, though you'll generally have more than enough while exploring the caves.

Many recipes also call for Fabric (crafted using Cotton) and various Leathers (unlike other games, these require Mushrooms.) The actual items required to progress in Blacksmithing are made via the Blacksmith's Forge — we'd recommend making multiple of these later as the crafting times increase.

You can sell the first five items from each tier without issue. Just make sure to keep the sixth item the first time you make it, as you'll need to hand it into Sylvia to reach the next tier of crafting recipes.

Note that recipes will only require Luma Energy the first time you craft them.
