You've done it, you've made it all the way to Iraq, the final area of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Heading down the elevator you turn and see a large room, bare except for the holes in the far wall. This Secret Vault is one of the final puzzles you'll have a chance to solve in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle so keep it on the back burner until you've collected every Ancient Relic.
What Do I Need To Complete The Secret Vault?
The Secret Vault isn't difficult to reach, but opening it is a whole different issue. In Iraq you'll head towards the Ziggaurat and head down the elevator. At the bottom of the elevator you can travel forward/slightly to the left to proceed towards the end of the game and some massive story moments.
If you instead veer to the right you'll end up at the Secret Vault. Here you'll see the same kind of dot language that Indy has been translating throughout the game. The key for these puzzles though is that you need to have collected all of the Ancient Relics from throughout the game.
If you're short on Ancient Relics, check out our collectible guides for Vatican City, Gizeh, and Sukhothai. These guides include where to obtain the Exploration books that will reveal the locations of the Ancient Relics. The books are called Vatican Relics, Gizeh Relics, and Sukhothai Relics, respectively.
Total Relics to Find - 50
- The Vatican - 10
- Gizeh - 15
- Sukhothai - 24
- Iraq - 1 (You'll need to pass the Secret Vault in the Story to get this)
Be warned: To obtain a number of these Ancient Relics, you'll also need to complete a lot of the other Fieldwork, Mysteries, and Discoveries. An early example of a quest that needs to be completed to obtain an Ancient Relic is the Secret of Giants photography fieldwork.
Secret Vault Solution Hints
The Secret Vault is one of the hardest puzzles to solve in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, not just because of the puzzle itself but also all of the work you've put into the game so far to gather together the 50 Ancient Relics. Because of that I'll also provide a number of hints for those who might need a bit of a nudge in the right direction.
As this puzzle can be solved in a number of ways it's also important to know that these totals and solution won't be the same for everyone but from left to right the number of pegs in each of the four puzzles are 11 - 11 - 13 - 15. I'm also aware that it's possible to solve the puzzle with the configuration of 11/12/13/14
How To Solve The Secret Vault
The Secret Vault is a puzzle like one you might have encountered earlier in the game in places like Sukhothai. You are able to freely place any of your Ancient Relics into any hole in the sigil and turn it.
If you turn the Ancient Relic to the left it will raise up all of the holes directly around the Relic. If you turn the Ancient Relic to the right it will raise up all of the holes that are up/down/left/right from it until there's a space
The puzzle here is to use the Ancient Relics to ensure that every hole across all four of the sigils ends up in a raised position.
