In this guide, we'll tell you how to upgrade your Fields of Mistria backpack and give you a little more room to carry around useful items on the go.
You'll quickly acquire lots of items as you complete activities in Fields of Mistria. While you can quickly return home to stash items when farming or foraging, exploring the Mines will require you to make some hard choices and leave some items behind unless you increase your inventory size. Read on to learn how to get a bigger backpack!
How to Upgrade Your Backpack in Fields of Mistria
You can upgrade your bag in Fields of Mistria by purchasing the "Bag Upgrade" from the General Store in the town of Mistria to the north of your farm. The Bag Upgrade will cost you 1,000 Tessarae and will double the size of your inventory from 10 slots to 20 slots. You will gain an additional hotbar that you can swap between by pressing Tab.
The Bag Upgrade is available for purchase on your very first day on your farm. Unfortunately, it costs 1,000 Tessarae (the currency of the land) and you only have 50 Tessarae to your name at the start of your adventure.
You may be tempted to quickly earn money by foraging, fishing, and catching bugs to buy a Backpack, but it's best to wait a bit — you'll ultimately gain much more money by investing your profits into more seeds for your farm or useful tools. I strongly recommend waiting until your first batch of crops has grown before saving up for the Bag Upgrade.
Later on, you'll get a Quest to upgrade the General Store. Completing this Quest will give you the opportunity to purchase another Bag Upgrade and further expand your inventory.

Bag Upgrade
- Cost: 1,000 Tessarae
- Purchased at: General Store
Increases your inventory by 10 slots and adds tab "B" to your hotbar.
Bag Upgrade 2
- Cost: 2,000 Tessarae
- Purchased at: General Store after completing the General Store upgrade quest
Increases your inventory by another 10 slots and adds tab "C" to your hotbar.
