Our guide will tell you how to make money in Fields of Mistria and the fastest way that you can earn a lot of money to buy the things you need.

A big part of Fields of Mistria is restoring and improving the town following its devastating earthquake. You'll need Tessarae (the game's currency) to repair these buildings as well as upgrade your home or build structures for your animals. In this guide, we'll teach you about all the ways you can earn money — and how to get a lot of cash quickly.

How to Make Money in Fields of Mistria

There are three ways to make money in Fields of Mistria:

  1. Selling items such as crops, forageables, or loot from monsters in the Mines.
  2. Crafting items and then selling them.
  3. Killing monsters in the Mines.
  4. Completing Quests that award money.

The main way you'll be making money is by selling the fruits of your labor — quite literally, in some cases. Although some of the crops and animal products you produce on your farm can be used for cooking or crafting, you'll probably sell the vast majority of them. This is a slow and steady growth, however.

Selling crafted items is a good way to make money as well, especially if you take skills that boost the value of certain items (such as furniture). Naturally, you'll need the ingredients to make these items. This applies to furniture, items made with blacksmithing, and food made with cooking.

You can get a small amount of money from killing monsters in the mines, but it's not much; killing a single monster might give you 5–10 Tessarae in total. However, the monsters will also drop loot that you can sell or craft into more valuable items.

Finally, you can earn money in Fields of Mistria by completing Quests. Quests may award Tessarae, items, or both.

It should be noted that you will get a premium for delivering an item for a Quest. As a hypothetical example, an item that might sell for 100 Tessarae might instead get you a 120 Tessarae reward instead. You should always complete Quests if you have the opportunity to do so.

Best Ways to Make Money Fast in Fields of Mistria

The best ways to quickly make money in Fields of Mistria are to complete quests and go into the Mines in search of ore, forageables, and monster loot.

You'll likely make the bulk of your money through farming and ranching, but these activities take time to pay off — some crops can take over a week to grow! If you're looking to make a quick buck, you won't find much help there.

Foraging, fishing, collecting artifacts, and catching bugs won't make you a whole ton of money, either. Generally speaking, this is what you'll get for these items:

  • Most bugs are worth 15–20 Tessarae.
  • Most fish are worth 35–40 Tessarae.
  • Most forageables are worth 5–30 Tessarae.
  • Most artifacts are worth 50–75 Tessarae.

There are some outliers in all of these categories; a rare fish, for example, could sell for 100 Tessarae or more. However, you won't be able to get these valuable items quickly and consistently. These activities are still a good way to supplement your income, but they're not a particularly fast way to earn money in Fields of Mistria.

Completing any Quests you have available is always a good way to get some quick cash, especially if an item is particularly valuable. For example, I received a Quest to deliver a Copper Shovel that rewarded me with 960 Tessarae — that's literally double the value of selling a Copper Shovel in the Shipping Bin!

In my experience, the absolute best way to earn money fast is to go into the Mines with as few items as possible, collect everything you can, and use those resources to craft better items.

Let's use Copper Ore as an example. A single piece of Copper Ore sells for 10 Tessarae. One Copper Ingot (which takes 10 Copper Ore without any blacksmithing skills) sells for 110 Tessarae — a 10% profit simply for crafting the item.

Now let's go a step further. All Copper items that you can make with blacksmithing require 4 Copper Ingots (or 40 Copper Ore), and they all sell for 480 Tessarae each. That's a 20% profit compared to selling the Copper Ore on its own!

Selecting the right skills will let you craft items faster and increase your short-term and long-term profits. After all, time is money!

Using blacksmithing to make items does take in-game time, but you can reduce that time to almost nothing by investing in blacksmithing skills. Getting all of the correct skills will reduce the Ingot crafting time to 0 minutes and crafting items down to 10 minutes apiece.

Aside from all of the ore you gather in the Mines, you can also sell any gems or forageables you find. This will further supplement your short-term earnings.

It should be noted that pretty much all crafted items will be more valuable than their raw ingredients. However, going into the mines is the only guaranteed way of earning money fast; you can't cook food or make furniture if you don't have access to the resources needed to make those items.

Unfortunately, there is no real way to earn money on the same day other than by completing Quests. Everything you sell with this method won't actually pay off until you go to sleep and wake up the next day. If you don't have any Quests available, you won't be able to earn any money on the same day, sadly.
