In this guide, we'll tell you how to get a vehicle in Astrometica and where you can find all of the Fragments you need to get the Skipper, Summon Vehicle, Vehicle Station, and Vehicle Docking Station!
The distance between locations in Astrometica can get pretty big and you'll have a hard time flying there with just your spacesuit. Fortunately, you can find and craft a couple of useful vehicles if you know where to look. Read on to see where to find these vehicles and the base pieces you need to build them!
How to Get a Vehicle in Astrometica
There are two ways to get a vehicle in the Early Access launch version of Astrometica:
- Scan all of the Skipper Vehicle Fragments
- Scan all of the Summon Vehicle Fragments
You will also need the Vehicle Station in order to actually craft the vehicle, along with the required resources and power.
It may be best to skip the Skipper entirely and go for the Summon Vehicle instead; the Summon Vehicle is superior to the Skipper in every way. That said, we'll explain how to get both of these vehicles below, along with the required base components.
How to Get the Vehicle Station and Skipper Vehicle
You can get the Vehicle Station by collecting Vehicle Station Fragments, and the same goes for the Skipper Vehicle. You can find the first Vehicle Station Fragment and first Skipper Vehicle Fragment at the Emergency Pod located at X -246327 + Y -25778 + Z 30929.
Stop off at Mox Island to recharge your oxygen, then head toward the Old Hub Station. You'll want to look for two broken spheres connected by a broken corridor at X-242561 + Y -59826 + Z 37648. You'll find the remaining Vehicle Station Fragments and Skipper Fragments inside these spheres.
From here, you can build the Vehicle Station in your base. As long as you have enough power, you can interact with the Vehicle Station and craft a Skipper Vehicle.
How to Get the Summon Vehicle
The Summon Vehicle is a little trickier to get; you may want to have a Skipper Vehicle and/or several Oxygen consumables before you try to get it.
First, you can get two Summon Vehicle Fragments at the Research Station located at X -81512 + Y -226031 + Z -24206. There are some other interesting items in this area, too, so you may as well loot them while you're there.
You can find the third and final Summon Vehicle Fragment just outside of the Vehicle Manufacturer Cave at X -260357 + Y -122173 + Z 35116.
Once you have all of the Fragments, you can build a Summon Vehicle at the Vehicle Station, just like the Skipper Vehicle. The Summon Vehicle has the distinct advantage of having a pressurized cabin, allowing you to explore outer space without worrying about running out of air.
How to Get the Vehicle Docking Station
The Vehicle Docking Station is a little trickier to get — it's located deep within the Vehicle Manufacturer Cave at X -260357 + Y -122173 + Z 35116. This area is populated with alien starfish enemies that can and will kill you unless you have the Laser Tool to kill them.
First, you'll need to get the Laser Tool in the Old Hub Station bedroom; you can find the Old Hub Station at X -258588 + Y -94913 + Z 33886. You'll probably want to bring a couple oxygen canisters with you, too; the Vehicle Manufacturer Cave does not have an atmosphere.
Head inside and work your way deeper into the cave until you see a structure that looks like a garage. Scan it and you'll get the Vehicle Docking Station; you can also get some other base building pieces here and some useful resources.
The Vehicle Docking Station allows you to park your Summon Vehicle and modify it with modules. These modules allow you to increase its speed, add a boost, and even warp to other faraway locations — as long as you find the crafting recipes for them, that is.
