How to Get Stone in Raft - cover

This guide will tell you how to get Stone in Raft, a key resource for building Throwable Anchors, the Axe, and many other useful items.

How to Get Stone in Raft

There are two ways to get Stone in Raft:

  1. Digging it up from the shallow waters around an island
  2. Getting it as a random drop from Barrels or Crates
  3. Purchasing it at a Trading Post

You'll probably get a few pieces of Stone from Barrels in the early parts of the game, but you'll get much more from the shallow water surrounding an island. Anchor your boat, dive into the water, and grab one or two pieces of Stone at a time before surfacing -- stay underwater for too long and you'll probably get attacked by the Shark!

What is Stone Used For in Raft?

Stone is used for very few recipes in Raft, but all of them are important to one degree or another.

The first things you'll likely want to make are a Stone Axe (to chop down trees) and a Throwable Anchor (to keep your boat in place while exploring an island). It should be noted that Throwable Anchors can only be used one time, so you'll likely spend most of your early-game Stone on making Throwable Anchors.

Throwable Anchors are highly important for the early game -- if you don't anchor your Raft, it will drift away and effectively end your game right there. You should make sure to always have a spare Throwable Anchor on hand so you can immediately anchor your Raft when you approach a new island.
