How to Get a Malachite Pass in STALKER 2

This guide tells you how to get a Malachite Pass in STALKER 2 and get into the STC Malachite Base in the Malachite region on the western side of The Zone.

There are many bases on the map in STALKER 2, but you won't be able to get into them right away. Some bases require loyalty to a certain faction and others have special conditions such as Noontide. STC Malachite won't let you in without a special Malachite Pass, and this guide will tell you how to get one by completing a specific side mission. Read on to learn more!

How to Get a Malachite Pass in STALKER 2

There are three ways to get a Malachite Pass in STALKER 2:

1. Retrieve a Malachite Pass off of a dead Malachite member
2. Complete the "A Big Score" side mission
3. Complete the "For Science!" side mission

Taking on the side mission "A Big Score" at the Slag Heap will lead you to an area with several dead Malachite scientists and a couple of artifacts; you can complete this mission pretty easily and get your hands on several Malachite Passes (and some other loot).

Otherwise finding a Malachite Pass on a dead Malachite member somewhat relies on luck. If you're nowhere near the Slag Heap, the "For Science!" side mission guarantees a Malachite Pass as long as you select the correct options. Read on to learn how to find and complete this side mission!

STALKER 2 For Science! Mission Walkthrough

The For Science! side mission in STALKER 2 is thankfully quite straightforward. First, you'll have to head to the Central Elevator; it can be found south southwest of Rostok and slightly north of the Chemical Plant in the Chemical Plant region. Here's its location on the map:

As you get near this area, you'll hear a radio communication from a man named Yaryk Mongoose. He asks you to meet him at a two-story building within this facility. Head inside and talk to him.

Yaryk Mongoose tells you that he's there to conduct a scientific experiment and, unfortunately, he can't do it by himself. He asks you to head outside to a device and push a button when he tells you to. Make your way over to the second device and get ready to activate it.

When you activate this device, a Bloodsucker will spawn at ground level. You'll have to kill it, so make sure you're ready to fight one. A shotgun is an excellent choice for dealing with these kinds of mutants if you have one.

Activate the device, then go down to ground level and kill the Bloodsucker. Return to Yaryk Mongoose and he will be understandably afraid seeing as he hung you out to dry with a deadly mutant.

When you talk to him, you have two choices: you can either attack him, or you can chew him out but effectively forgive him. I do not recommend attacking Yaryk Mongoose; instead, you should forgive him. Forgiving Yaryk Mongoose will net you a reward of 1,350 Coupons and, more importantly, a Malachite Pass.

You can then take this Malachite Pass up to STC Malachite in the Malachite region and get access to that base, granting you the ability to purchase new weapon attachments and a chance to take on the Black Sheep side mission. All you need to do is walk up to the green door in the rear and present the Malachite Pass to the guard to gain entry.
