How to Get Into Prypiat in STALKER 2

This guide will tell you how to get into Prypiat in STALKER 2 so you can explore the Jupitar and Prypiat regions in the northern area of The Zone.

While most of the map is open to you in STALKER 2, several other areas are closed off. The iconic Prypiat region is sure to be teeming with artifacts, weapon attachments, and opportunities for making money, but you'll need to get inside first. Read on to learn how to venture north into Prypiat!

How to Get Into Prypiat in STALKER 2

You can get into Prypiat in STALKER 2 by either giving the M-Scanner to Nor in Yaniv Station or using the M-Scanner to get through the tunnel in XXX to the west of Yaniv Station. You won't be able to get into Prypiat until you reach the main story mission "YYY."

Exploring as much of the map as you can is tempting, but certain areas of the game are blocked off for one reason or another. For example, you can't get into the Noontide base until the mission Back to the Slag Heap, and the Duga region is similarly closed off until you reach a certain story mission. The Jupiter and Prypiat regions are also closed off to you at the start of the game.

Yaniv Station is the northernmost town that you can visit for much of the story. It also serves as the only safe path into Prypiat; a wall of trains and fences prevents you from heading north. Furthermore, an invincible sniper guards the eastern fence, much like the invincible snipers protecting Duga.

There are some glitches and exploits that let you get into Prypiat floating around, but they're sure to be patched and you don't want to try them. The Jupiter and Prypiat regions are full of some of the toughest enemies in the game, and it's best to wait until you're well-equipped before heading in there.

You'll have to progress the story until you get to the story mission "The Boundary." During this mission, you'll have to fight off a Monolith assault at Yaniv Station. You'll then talk with Richter and learn about a Stalker named Spirit who still has a way to get into Prypiat.

When you track down Spirit, you'll have to convince him to give you some clues about how to get into Prypiat. He'll then point you toward a special device called an M-Scanner stored at the Spark Bunker southwest of Yaniv Station. When you get there, you'll find four soldiers with exoskeletons investigating the area; kill them, then retrieve the M-Scanner.

The M-Scanner opens up two options for traveling into Prypiat — heading through a tunnel to the west or turning it in and earning a pass the legitimate way.

Should You Take the Tunnel or Give the M-Scanner to Nor?

You should give the M-Scanner to Nor. Traveling through the tunnel near the Tornado anomaly is extremely hazardous, but more importantly, it doesn't give you any rewards. Nor, however, will give you a hefty amount of Coupons and he'll also grant you access to Prypiat through Yaniv Station.

Once you have permission, you can come and go through the northern doors of Yaniv Station as you please. Although there is another base in Prypiat, it's always good to have some additional safe places to fall back to if you need them!
