How to Find the Papers for Shcherba in STALKER 2
The "In Search of Past Glory" mission in STALKER 2 is fairly straightforward, but it also has a side objective to find papers related to the Controller Project for Doctorant Shcherba. If you can manage to find them, you'll need a useful reward that will make it easier than ever to find artifacts.
Proceed with the In Search of Past Glory mission and work your way through the facility until you reach the lower level for the "Research the Lab" objective. You'll be stuck in a darkened room; look around for an electrical box bathed in red light.
Walk up to the electrical box and get ready to activate it. Three snorks will come out of the door behind you, so have a shotgun ready to take them out. Pull the switch and turn around; a metal door will open shortly thereafter and you'll have to deal with the three snorks.
Go through the metal door and enter the first room on your left; you'll find the Controller documents that Shcherba wants sitting on a shelf in this room.
Finish exploring the facility and get the other items you need, then get ready to fight your way out. You'll have to contend with approximately a dozen Monolithians as you exit the facility.
Make your way back to Doctorant Shcherba and Prof. Dvupalov at the Roofed Warehouse. The front door will be open. Head inside and Shcherba will immediately greet you and ask if you've found the papers. Turn them over and he'll give you the best artifact detector that you've seen to date: the Veles Detector.
