Horizon Forbidden West Sheerside Mountains Hunting Ground Guide

The Horizon Forbidden West Hunting Grounds allow Aloy to use her skills and weapons to take down a variety of machines in different ways. You earn Hunting Ground rewards for each challenge you complete, and if you're going for the Forbidden West Platinum Trophy, you'll want to earn full stripes at all Hunting Grounds.

To earn full stripes at Sheerside Mountains Hunting Ground, you'll need to accomplish three challenges under the set time limit.

Sheerside Mountains Hunting Grounds: Frost Trial 3 Stripes Guide

The Sheerside Mountains Hunting Grounds Frost Trial requires you to use Frost ammo on Bellowbacks to build up to the Brittle state, and then destroy their Cargo Refining Sacs or Gullets. To earn the Sheerside Mountains Hunting Grounds Frost Trial full stripes reward, you'll need to destroy three sacs in the Brittle state in under three minutes. Each Bellowback has two sacs, so you can take down multiple per machine. Your Frost Blastsling will be a helpful tool during this trial. If you run out of ammo, you can cause the Frost Bellowback to enter a Brittle state by bursting one of its sacs. Sheerside Mountains Hunting Grounds: Shredder Catch Trial 3 Stripes Guide

In order to take on the Sheerside Mountains Hunting Grounds Shredder Catch Trial, you'll need the Shredder Gauntlet. To earn full stripes in the Shredder Catch Trial, you must hit a machine three times with a Shredder Gauntlet and catch it on its return, then inflict an explosive strike on your next Shredder attack once the weapon is charged. You'll need to do this on two separate machines in under two minutes to earn the Sheerside Mountains Hunting Grounds Shredder Catch Trial full stripes award. Catching the Shredder on return can be challenging, so get some practice in to better anticipate the return path. It's easiest to maintain some distance between you and the machine so you have more time to catch the returning Shredder, or get very close to minimize the distance needed to move to catch it. Sheerside Mountains Hunting Grounds: Plasma Blast Trial 3 Stripes Guide

In order to take on the Sheerside Mountains Hunting Grounds Plasma Blast Trial, you'll need a weapon capable of firing plasma ammo, such as the Plasma Boltcaster. Once obtained, use Plasma ammo on a Rollerback until it enters the Plasma Blast state. A timer will begin to countdown. Do as much additional damage as you can before the timer expires. A Plasma Blast will inflict massive damage on the Rollerback. To earn full stripes in the Sheerside Mountains Hunting Grounds Plasma Blast Trial, you'll need to administer maximum Plasma Blast damage two times in under two minutes. Charge the Plasma Blast with the Plasma Boltcaster, then switch to your Bow for precise, high-damaging hits. This will help you conserve your Plasma Boltcaster ammo. Earn three stripes in all three Sheerside Mountains Hunting Grounds trials and you'll receive the Obtained 3 Stripes at a Hunting Ground trophy if this is the first Hunting Grounds you've completed. Complete three stripes at all Hunting Grounds and you'll receive the Obtained 3 Stripes at All Hunting Grounds trophy.
