Forza Horizon 5 has quite a large list of achievements to knock out on your way to 1000/1000, and while most of them make sense right away, there are a few that manage to be a bit cryptic at first glance. Among those is an achievement titled “An Item of Extreme Value.”
The “An Item of Extreme Value” achievement requests that you seek out and photograph something called the Golden Tlaloc Totem. Without further context, you might think this means the totem will be a well-hidden landmark of some sort you’ll need to spend ages searching out. However, while it is technically optional, it’s actually part of a main mission, which makes it a whole lot easier to snag than you’d think.
Where To Find the Golden Tlaloc Totem in Forza Horizon 5
In order to find the Golden Tlaloc Totem, you’ll first need to begin the Horizon Apex Adventure. You can do this by selecting its first tier “Tulum Expedition”. This will create an icon on the map that’ll need to drive to in order to begin the Expedition and subsequently make your way to the totem.
Once you arrive at the “Tulum Expedition” icon and begin the Expedition, you’ll find yourself making your way towards a tropical storm. After weathering some harsh winds and rain, you’ll eventually reach Tulum, an area filled with ancient ruins. Here you’ll receive a list of optional objectives to complete.
At the very bottom of the list of optional objectives, you’ll see “Photograph the Golden Statue”. While they’ve subbed out the word “totem” for “statue” here, this is actually referring to the Golden Tlaloc Totem we’re seeking to photograph.
During the mission, you’ll be restricted to a small explorable area. You can find multiple other optional objectives here to help you earn accolades, but we’re here for the Golden Tlaloc Statue, so let’s head to this spot on the map and take a look around:
Once you reach this location on the map, look closely at a small section of the ruins with a tall totem (or statue, as they refer to it here). This is the Golden Tlaloc Totem, and you’ve got to take a picture of it to both complete the optional objective and earn yourself the “An Item of Extreme Value” achievement we’re ultimately here for.
Taking a picture of the Golden Tlaloc Totem is considerably less difficult than finding it. In order to do this, press up on the D-pad to bring up your camera, focus it on the totem, and then press the A button to snap a picture of it. After doing so, you’ll immediately receive credit for the optional objective “Photograph the Golden Statue” as well as the achievement “An Item of Extreme Value”.
After taking this picture of the Golden Tlaloc Totem, you’re free to complete the mission or search out the other optional objectives in the area to rack up those extra accolades. Either way, that’s one more Forza Horizon 5 achievement unlocked on your way to 1000/1000.
