Our Forever Skies Underdust Suburbs Walkthrough will help you navigate the Underdust Suburbs and find the items you need to progress the main story.

Extending the Docking Plank to Start the Forever Skies Underdust Suburbs Walkthrough

Underdust Suburbs Walkthrough

Now that we're close to a cure, it's time for the Underdust Suburbs. This will be the biggest location you've visited yet and there will be a lot of enemies inside, so you'll want to be loaded for bear.

Fly to the location and look for a broken Docking Plank at the lower side of the building. Dock your ship and extend a Docking Plank so you can head inside. If you somehow don't already have a Docking Plank, you can scan this one and build it at the front of your ship to get inside. Take care not to fall!

Unlocking the Elevator and Looting the Lobby

As with previous locations of a similar nature, the Underdust Suburbs elevator is locked. Loot the lobby, taking care to eliminate any Beehives you find. You'll see a card scanner near the elevator, scan it to get the Scientist's Keycard blueprint.

Craft the Scientist's Keycard. You'll also want to bring at least 60 Charged Bolts, 5 Medkits, 3 Crystal Batteries, and a Large Bottle filled with Liquid Oxygen. The Underdust Suburbs are massive and filled with Impious Mantises, Beehives, and all sorts of other hazards; keep your eyes open as you explore!

Getting the Aircutter

Take the elevator down. Exit the elevator, turn around 180 degrees, and walk behind it until you find this area:

The Path to the Hardened Creepers in the Underdust Suburbs in Forever Skies

You're going to want to go forward and turn left until you see some blue cables with a blue container below.

Don't jump down just yet; there will be at least two Impious Mantises on the lower ground. Kill them from afar with the Crossbow, and make sure not to stand in their acid spit if they land a shot near you.

Once the Impious Mantises are dead, drop down onto the blue container, then turn right and drop down onto the blue and red containers below that. Turn around and you'll see the blue container is open, but there are blue vines blocking it.

Scanning the Hardened Creepers in the Underdust Suburbs in Forever Skies

These are Hardened Creepers; you'll need an upgrade for the Knife to break them. Scan the Hardened Creepers and you'll unlock the recipe for the Aircutter.

Look to the left and you'll see a ladder held up with a lock.

A Ladder Back to the Surface from the Underdust Suburbs in Forever Skies

Shoot the lock with your Crossbow and you'll be able to climb up these two ladders in sequence to get back up to the overpass. Before you head out, make sure you loot the Impious Mantises you killed. You'll need Chitin in order to research the Aircutter.

Once you're back up on the broken overpass, look in front of you and you'll see a massive lit tower.

The Lit Tower Leading Home in the Underdust Suburbs in Forever Skies

This tower holds the elevator that takes you back to the surface. The Underdust Suburbs are a massive area, so you'll want to remember what this looks like in case you get lost.

Head toward this lit tower, return to the surface, and research the Aircutter. Craft an Aircutter. Bear in mind that the Aircutter needs to be charged since it uses electricity to enhance the blade's cutting power.

Getting the Large Oxygen Tank

Head back down the elevator and head around behind the door to make it back to the overpass with the shipping containers where you found the Hardened Creepers. Use your Aircutter to remove the Hardened Creepers and head inside.

The Large Oxygen Tank in the Underdust Suburbs in Forever Skies

This is the Large Oxygen Tank; it will give you a full 200 seconds of Oxygen in polluted areas. Unfortunately, you'll have to head back up to your ship to research and craft it.

Having an extra 50 seconds of Oxygen is definitely worth it in this area, so we strongly recommend that you do it. Return to your ship, research the Large Oxygen Tank, and build one at the Upgrade Station.

Getting the Pipe Water Generator

Again, make sure you have at least 3 Crystal Batteries and 1 full Large Bottle of Liquid Oxygen. There aren't many oxygen generators down here and you'll want some breathing room, so to speak.

Head back down to the Underdust Suburbs. With the Aircutter and the Large Oxygen Tank, we can now put some serious work in. This time, we're going to head straight forward from the elevator down the massive vine.

Heading Down the Massive Vine in the Underdust Suburbs in Forever Skies

Walk all the way to the bottom of the vine.

Turn right, and you'll see an oxygen machine and a crashed airship on the collapsed road above.

Put a Crystal Battery in the Oxygen Refill Station, then turn to your right and climb up the collapsed underpass. Make your way to the crashed Airship. When you get close, you'll see some Hardened Creepers blocking your way.

It's a good thing we have the Aircutter! Cut the Hardened Creepers and move forward. You'll find a Siren Crown Fruit plant if you haven't gotten one already along with some Medical Reagants and Mantis Glands on the ground nearby.

Inside the Airship is another important discovery: the Wrecked Pipe Water Generator.

Scanning the Pipe Water Generator in the Underdust Suburbs in Forever Skies

The Pipe Water Generator is a massive improvement over the Water Condensers you've been using since the start of the game. The filter essentially never runs out, so you'll have an infinite supply of Dirty Water once you've made it.

This particular device has another great benefit — it can use pipes to connect it to Water Tanks. This allows you to automate farming or store large quantities of Dirty Water for crafting.

Finding Flora

Turn around and you'll find a tablet with a note about the Airship and some Mantis Glands. Look around the area carefully for other loot, then return to the nearby oxygen generator.

Once you're at the Oxygen Refill Station, look down the dirt path toward the glowing plants in the distance.

Head down that path. Turn left and you'll see a long dirt road ahead of you with some debris in the distance. Keep moving forward down that path.

As you get closer, you'll see an Impious Mantis attack another. Keep moving forward, and stop when you get to the cliff's edge.

Ambushing Impious Mantises in the Underdust Suburbs in Forever Skies

There will be at least one Impious Mantis on the ground below. Snipe it with your Crossbow, then reload it.

Climb down the nearby ladder. When you reach the bottom, two Imperious Mantises will burst out of the brush. Kill them quickly. Then, head forward to the left and you'll see a grate with an Alternator nearby.

Hit the Alternator with your Aircutter and the grate will open. Head down the ladder and you'll find a dead Blasphemous Mantis at the bottom along with some human corpses and a couple of Crossbow Bolts.

Climb back up the ladder, then hit the Alternator again to close up the grate — you don't want to risk accidentally falling back down here.

Look up and to the left of the ladder and you'll find another locked ladder surrounded by the corpses of several Blasphemous Mantises, Crossbow Bolts, Breathnuts, and other loot.

Looking at Another Locked Ladder in the Underdust Suburbs in Forever Skies

Shoot the lock. Loot the immediate area, then head up the ladder. When you reach the top, you'll find an absolute treasure trove of plants and Chitin.

The Sleeping Lily Seed up here is the key item you'll need; once you grab it, you'll be able to leave. Grab all you can for now. You can also find Siren Crown Fruits, Summer Balm Fruits, and other loot up here.

There is also an Oxygen Refill Station up here with a Crystal Battery nearby. If you feel the need, you can activate it, but you're basically done with this section of the Underdust Suburbs.

Getting More Plants and the Large Water Tank

Climb up the ladder on top of a nearby car and make your way back up the dirt road you first came down. Return to the Oxygen Generator near the elevator.

Refill your oxygen here. This time, you'll head to the right instead of the left. This is the path you'll take:

Taking the Right-Hand Path in the Underdust Suburbs in Forever Skies

Walk forward a short distance. You'll see an Oxygen Refill Station; put a Crystal Battery in it if you wish.

Walk a short distance forward more and you'll find some greyish-white blobs on a vine. Cut these blobs with your Aircutter.

The Greyish White Blobs in the Underdust Suburbs in Forever Skies

These will give you Pig Smile Seeds and North Star Seeds, two new pieces of Flora that you can grow in your farms. If you're incredibly unlucky, you'll have to visit another instance of the Underdust Suburbs to get both plants.

Keep heading past the white blobs and you'll see two Icedews next to a destroyed ambulance with a chest in it. Continue walking in this direction. You'll encounter several more broken chests that you can loot amongst the cars, along with some lore tablets, Pig Smile Seeds, and other items.

Make sure you get some Mantis Feces from around the base of the Icedews; you'll need this to advance your main objective and grow certain plants on your farm.

A short distance later, you'll come up to a location with a chained ladder up and to the right and a small scientist camp with a tablet to the left. If you haven't yet unlocked this ladder, do it now.

The Third Locked Ladder Next to an Oxygen Refill Station in the Underdust Suburbs in Forever Skies

Walk forward just a little more. You'll see a ruined building and an Oxygen Refill Station to the right. If you haven't yet powered up this Oxygen Refill Station, you can do it now.

An Icedew protects the front of the building. If you don't have Hypothermia, you can go around the back and destroy Hardened Creepers to get inside. Either way, go inside this building. Head up to the second floor and you'll find the other new unlock for this area: the Large Water Tank.

Scanning the Large Water Tank in the Underdust Suburbs in Forever Skies

The Large Water Tank is your new best option for storing water for farming, cooking, and crafting, especially when it's used in tandem with Pipes.

Exiting the Underdust Suburbs

Return to the nearby Oxygen Refill Station and then go back to the ladder leading up to the collapsed overpass. This will take you very near the tower with the elevator, allowing you to return to the surface.

At this point, you have the key items you need for the Underdust Suburbs and you can leave without missing out on anything. However, there is a ton of loot down here, so it would be worth it to thoroughly explore the area if you want to clean it out.

Go back up to your ship and craft some Dust Fertilizer in your Distiller. Then, plant a Sleeping Lily Seed in a Large Garden Plot.

When the Sleeping Lily Seed is grown, harvest it and you'll be able to craft a medicine that treats the virus that has been plaguing you. Take the cure, then test yourself at the medical station; you'll then get access to the next major Mission Report.

We're almost done with the game! Our next stop is the Workshop.
