In this guide, we'll explain how the Forever Skies map and Location Radar work, and we'll give you details about the many points of interest you'll explore.

Viewing the Forever Skies Map on a Side Window
The map has a lot of points of interest for you to explore.

How the Map Works

You will get the Forever Skies map as part of the early-game main story quest "Find Noah's Hideout." The "Location Radar" item will let you see the map around you once you place it on a wall in your Airship.

The map shows you all points of interest within approximately a 1km radius . Each point of interest has its own unique icon, many of which are shown in the images for each point of interest later on in this guide.

The world (and the map) appear to extend infinitely in all directions, although that doesn't mean you won't encounter some barriers. You'll need a special Extractor module to get through the wall of plants and you'll need the Charged Crossbow Bolt to get through the energy field. Each of these barriers blocks the way to greater opportunities for gathering crafting materials.

Points of interest will remain lit up on the map until you find the beacon tower and remove the Solid State Battery. Once that's done, the icon will go dark on the Location Radar. It's good practice to find and remove the Solid State Battery every time so you don't waste time visiting locations you've already been to.

When a point of interest is cleared out, it will not regenerate. However, you can travel away from that location and find a new instance of that same location to loot it all over again; this applies even to story locations such as the Workshop.

Sometimes, the Location Radar Map will be your only safe option for exploring the world.

Notable Locations

Here are all of the notable locations you can encounter on the Forever Skies map. Please note that we've excluded unique story locations (such as the special towers for the Noah chase) and random events such as colossal creatures and crashed drop pods from this list.

Garden Variants

Greenhouse Tower

Notable Unlocks: Small Water Tank, Large Sprinkler, Small Gardening Pot, Large Garden Pot, Small Backpack, Distiller, Docking Plank

The Greenhouse Tower is the first truly large location you'll visit in your explorations of the ruined Earth. This one location can help you get started with farming and a new wing of crafting through the Distiller, and you can also secure your first Backpack upgrade here.

Infected Greenhouse Tower

Infected Greenhouse Tower Garden Variant

Notable Unlocks: Medical Station, Decoy, Distiller, Pipe, Sprinkler, Automatic Deck Extractor

The Infected Greenhouse is a highly dangerous location that you won't be able to fully explore until you've explored the Wild Habitat and New Nature Territory in order to get the necessary items to craft the Immunity Booster.

Once you're able to explore this place in earnest, you'll be able to get your hand on Pipes which will allow you to automate farming and extend the fuel capacity of your Airship's engines.

Workshop Variants

Workshop

Workshop Workshop Variant

Notable Unlocks: Cutting Tool

The Workshop is one of the last locations you'll visit in the main story of Forever Skies. Although it only has one unlockable item, it's also home to the Technology Printer trading interface which allows you to buy and sell crafting materials and other items.

Radio Tower Variants

Overgrown Tower

Overgrown Tower Radio Tower Variant

Notable Unlocks: Small Gardening Pot, Large Garden Pot

The Overgrown Tower tends to be on the smaller side of points of interest. It doesn't have many useful things aside from raw resources, but you can typically find one or more Luciferin Fruits here which can be used to craft Energy Crystals.

Communication Point

Communication Point Radio Tower Variant

Notable Unlocks: Metal Collector, Location Radar, Flashlight

The Communication Point is a common early-game point of interest with a few useful items. It's mainly used as a source of crafting materials and consumables for the early game.

Ruined Radio Tower

Ruined Radio Tower Radio Tower Variant

Notable Unlocks: Docking Plank, Large Freezer

The Ruined Radio Tower's one item of note is the Large Freezer — this storage container is a massive upgrade over the Small Freezer and allows you to preserve more of your food in the same floor space.

Temporary Camp

Temporary Camp Radio Tower Variant

Notable Unlocks: Soft Cushion

The Temporary Camp's sole claim to fame is the Soft Cushion item which can be used as a home for the Friendly Insect you rescue in the Underdust Laboratory.

Small Town

Small Town Radio Tower Variant

Notable Unlocks: Amber King Size Bed, Moth Vivarium, Paint Tool

The Small Town variant of the Radio Tower has a much better bed, a storage item that lets you keep live moths, and a Paint Tool which allows you to customize the look of your Airship.

Wind Farm Variants

Standard Wind Farm

Standard Wind Farm Radio Tower Variant

Notable Unlocks: Basic Turbine

The Standard Wind Farm is one of the first locations you'll visit at the start of the game. You'll find the Basic Turbine here which allows you to fly to greater heights and explore more locations on the map such as the Greenhouse Tower.

This Wind Farm (and all variants) is also the only place you can get Helium, a critical item for expanding your Airship's balloon which allows you to greatly increase the size of your Airship.

Command Center

Command Center Wind Farm Variant

Notable Unlocks: Freezer

The Command Center is a place that you'll absolutely want to visit as soon as you can; it has the Small Freezer storage item which allows you to indefinitely preserve food and keep it from spoiling.

High Point

High Point Wind Farm Variant

Notable Unlocks: Docking Plank, Recycler

The High Point is home to the Recycler, an item that can break down objects you've crafted back into their basic resources. The Recycler is especially helpful when you switch over to bigger storage types; you can recycle obsolete storage items to reclaim those crafting materials for other uses.

Rooftops

Rooftops Wind Farm Variant

Notable Unlocks: Filtering Deck Extractor

The Rooftops has the Filtering Deck Extractor, the second upgrade to the Deck Extractor (after the Automatic Deck Extractor) which allows you to collect whatever specific crafting materials you'd like as long as it's powered by a Crystal Battery.

Underdust Variants

AI-Tree Roots

AI-Tree Roots Underdust Variant

Notable Unlocks: N/A

The AI-Tree Roots is the final major location you'll visit as part of the main story; this is where you'll have to make the choice between the game's two mutually exclusive endings.

Underdust Tunnels / Underdust Laboratory

Underdust Tunnels Underdust Laboratory Underdust Variant

Notable Unlocks: Crossbow, Deck Extractor, Repair Tool, Storage Box, Upgrade Station

The Underdust Tunnels (also known as the Underdust Laboratory or Underdust Lab) is the first major location you'll visit in the Underdust. You'll greatly increase your combat capability when you acquire the Crossbow, and repairing your Airship will get a lot easier with the Repair Tool.

Underdust Suburbs

Underdust Suburbs Underdust Variant

Notable Unlocks: Docking Plank, Fuel Tank, Pipe Water Generator, Large Water Tank

The Underdust Suburbs is one of the final locations you'll visit as part of the story. This is a massive underground area filled with deadly Impious Mantises in a large, open cavern filled with crumbling overpasses.

Dust Territories Variants

The New Nature Territory is a good place to farm Chitin by killing Impious Mantises. This location also has the Medium Backpack upgrade and an Artifact Trade Station.

Wild Habitat

The Wild Habitat is similar to the New Nature Territory in many respects; it, too, has an Artifact Trade Station and a bunch of Impious Mantises for you to fight.
