Our Forever Skies Farming Guide will tell you everything you need to know about farming and gardening along with the locations of every crop.

A Variety of Large Crops Being Grown with Forever Skies Farming

How Farming Works

Forever Skies farming mechanics (also called gardening) are fairly straightforward. To grow a plant, you need three components placed in a Garden Plot:

  1. The crop seed
    • Note: some crops (such as Patat) do not use seeds; instead, the crop itself is planted
  2. Fertilizer
  3. Dirty Water or Clean Water

Place all three items in a Garden Plot of the appropriate size and wait for it to grow. You will likely need to water your crop at least twice for it to fully grow.

When you harvest planted crops (or wild plants), you will get the plant itself and you have a small chance to get a seed.

How to Unlock New Crops

You can unlock new crops in Forever Skies by exploring locations and searching for crops. Each crop is only available in certain locations on the map; you can see which crops can be found where in the list of crops at the bottom of this guide.

How to Automate Farming

Automating farming requires scanning, researching, and crafting certain devices. Generally speaking, you'll need a Pipe Water Generator or Water tank hooked up to a Sprinkler with Pipes; the Sprinkler must be placed on the ceiling above the Garden Plot.

You can create more complex watering systems by chaining together multiple Sprinklers with Pipes. Additionally, you can use a Water Tank to act as a storage buffer for Dirty Water.

Diver Pearls are the best renewable source of oxygen — as long as you have a Distiller to process them into Liquid Oxygen.
