This guide will tell you what you need to do to get either of the Forever Skies Endings and how you can get the achievements for both of them without replaying the game all over again.

How to Unlock All Endings
There are only two Forever Skies endings in the 1.0 release of the game; unfortunately, they're mutually exclusive and you can only choose one of them. (You can, however, get both achievements with a little save file trickery which we'll detail below.)
How to Get the 'Fail to Save Humanity' Ending
Getting the "Fail to Save Humanity" Ending is the easiest ending to complete, and it will also get you the "Human beings are a disease" achievement. All you have to do is progress through the game normally and create the cure to the Grey Plague using the Virus Sample Analyzer.
You'll be able to make the cure for the Grey Plague after completing all of the core objectives in the Underdust Suburbs location. After that, you'll need to visit the Workshop location, get the keycard blueprint for the A.I. Tower, and craft it. This will grant you access to the physical home of the A.I. that is hooked into the remaining technology on Earth.
The AI Tree Surface Lift and AI-Tree Roots is a safe location and it's a short journey down to the A.I. interface within. You'll need to craft 1 Virus Cure and bring it down into the AI-Tree Roots with you, so make sure you do that before you take the elevator down.
Once you get there, you must give the virus cure to the A.I. Unfortunately, the A.I. does not want to give it to the remaining humans on the Ark, so you will be dooming them to die from the Grey Plague while a new batch of humans is grown in an underground lab.
After you've made this choice, you'll see an ending cutscene and then you'll be returned to the world to explore.

How to Get the 'Save Humanity' Ending
The "Save Humanity" ending is a little more difficult to get, but not by much — all you have to do is find a secret location in the Workshop point of interest before you visit the A.I.
A group of rebels known as the "Cockroaches" have been fighting against the A.I. who has been communicating with you throughout the game. They've developed a virus and secreted it away in their headquarters at the Workshop.
Once you've opened up the Workshop's lowermost levels and crafted the Cutting Tool, you'll be able to reach the bottom-most area of the Workshop. Explore the area thoroughly and you'll find a door with the Cockroaches' symbol next to it:

Scan the Cockroaches Access Terminal with your Scanner and you'll get a crafting blueprint for the Cockroaches Key. Return to this location and open the door to the Cockroaches Hideout; you'll find a Pendrive (that is, a thumb drive/USB stick) with an A.I.-killing virus on it.
Proceed to the AI-Tree Roots as with the other ending. This time, however, you'll want to insert the Pendrive into the slot instead of the Virus Cure. This will kill the A.I. and allow you to make use of the Cosmodrome to take a rocket back to the Ark where you can deliver the Virus Cure and save the surviving humans.
Despite the fact that you've apparently left the planet, your adventure will continue from the outside of the AI Tree Surface Lift (which is now disabled), allowing you to explore other locations and collect any other items you may have missed.
How to Get Both Endings
There is a way to get the achievements for both Forever Skies endings without playing through the game twice, although you can still only have one ending per save file. To do this, you'll need to make a backup or copy of your save files; you will need at least one save file slot open.
First, you'll want to craft both the AI-Tree Keycard and the Cockroaches Key. Proceed to the AI Tree Surface Lift location, save your game, and quit Forever Skies.
Navigate to the save file location on your PC, which is:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\ProjectZeppelin\Saved\SaveGames
Where "USERNAME" is your Windows username. (If you're playing a beta branch, the save file will be in Saved_BetaFlight\SaveGames instead.) Inside, you will see a bunch of files with the following names:
- SaveGameSlot_0.sav
- SaveGameSlot_0_1.sav
- SaveGameSlot_0_2.sav
- SaveGameSlot_0_3.sav
- SaveGameSlot_0_4.sav
- SaveGameSlot_0_5.sav
This is your save file and what is likely the hidden backups for it; there may be more or fewer files than shown here. Copy these, paste them into the same folder, and change each 0 to a 1. Your new set of save files will look like this:

- SaveGameSlot_1.sav
- SaveGameSlot_1_1.sav
- SaveGameSlot_1_2.sav
- SaveGameSlot_1_3.sav
- SaveGameSlot_1_4.sav
- SaveGameSlot_1_5.sav
- SaveGameSlot_1_6.sav
Start the game up again and you'll see that you've duplicated your save file into the second slot. You can now get one ending with one save file and the other ending with the copied save file you made. Alternatively, you can simply back up your save file, get one ending, and then restore your backup and get the other ending.
Making a copy of your save file (or restoring a backup) will allow you to get both achievements for the Forever Skies endings, but you'll still only be able to have one ending per save file. Keep in mind that Far From Home intends to keep working on this game after launch, and we don't yet know how your ending choice might affect post-launch content.
That's the end of our Forever Skies Endings Guide. The story may be over, but there's a lot more to learn about the game — check out our other guides below!
