There's plenty of flashy combat and compelling story to be found in Final Fantasy VII Remake, but it doesn't always have to be so serious. One of the main collectibles of Final Fantasy VII Remake is the different Music Discs that are found all over Midgar. Starting in Chapter 3 as you explore the world, you'll start getting opportunities to obtain these Music Discs by purchasing them or just being handed them. This Music Disc guide will go chapter by chapter to make sure you're able to find them all.
After you have collected all Music Discs you will earn the Music Collector Trophy after you get three of them, and the Disc Jockey Trophy after obtaining all 31. If you've found that you've missed a Music Disc or two, never fear as a Chapter Select option unlocks after you have beaten the main storyline.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Locating Music Discs
Wherever a music disc is to be found, it will also be playing in the area. There is an indicator that will appear in the top left of your screen as soon as Cloud starts hearing a specific tune. When it's a track that you have already obtained, you'll see the number and name of the track, but if you haven't obtained the track yet, you will simply see "???" This indicator is how you know to start looking for the source of the track.

Across your journey, you'll find rest stations and vending machines. These blue vending machines will say "Potion" on them if they are just an item seller, but if they also have "Music and Potion," then you can purchase a Music Disc from them. No matter what shop you encounter a Music Disc, they will only be 50 Gil, so don't expect to break the bank collecting all 31.

Review: A great dance-pop remix of the classic Final Fantasy Prelude. While this kind of Eurobeat isn't my cup of tea, it's sure to be a hit at the Honeybee Inn Friday nights. 6/10
Track 2 Bombing Mission
When to obtain: Chapter 2
Where to obtain: Purchase from Vending Machine
Review: This track mixed jazz with bop to get a serious track that you can't help but snap your fingers along to. You can imagine the kinds of underworld dealing this would be set to in a movie. 8/10
Track 3 Tifa's Theme
When to obtain: Chapter 3
Where to obtain: Interact with Seventh Heaven Jukebox
Review: This lovely slow piece shows off the saxophone's ability to solo before letting the piano take it away. The perfect song to listen to while sipping on a refreshing beverage at the Seventh Heaven after a long day. 8/10
Track 4 Barret's Theme
When to obtain: Chapter 3
Where to obtain: Sector 7 Station Item Shop
Review: Everybody loves a good harmonica, 'nuff said. 7/10
Track 5 Lurking in the Darkness
When to obtain: Chapter 15
Where to obtain: Purchase from Vending Machine
Review: This upbeat piano piece is certainly in your face, but has a bit too much chaos at once that causes individual instruments to be lost. 4/10
Track 6 Let the Battles Begin!
When to obtain: Chapter 11
Where to obtain: Purchase from Vending Machine
Review: A fantastic remix of the classic battle track showing how a piece of music can age so well. I don't know why I would but I bet hearing this for hours on end would begin to get grating though. 6/10
Track 7 Turk's Theme
When to obtain: Chapter 14
Where to obtain: North of Wall Market where the path splits find a woman near a lake on the left
Review: In between the harmonica and guitar, the solid percussive beats evoke imagery of traveling through the deserts surrounding Midgar. Great track for a road trip. 7/10
Track 8 Under the Rotting Pizza
When to obtain: Chapter 9
Where to obtain: Interact with Wall Market Jukebox
Review: This funky track meshes too well with the hard truths of life under Midgar. The interwoven techno keeps your head bobbing as you make your way through the Slums. 8/10
Track 9 The Oppressed
When to obtain: Chapter 10
Where to obtain: Purchase from Vending Machine
Review: It's amazing the way that The Opressed's slow tone and almost wheeze embodies the laborious effort of living under Shinra's shadow. It's a great track but a harsh reminder. 5/10
Track 10 Honeybee Inn
When to obtain: Chapter 9
Where to obtain: Purchase from Pharmacy in Wall Market
Review: This party beat doesn't have much depth to it, but the marimba happily playing and upbeat sharp horns make me miss the Honeygirls and Honeyboys of the Honeybee Inn. 7/10
Track 11 Don of the Slums
When to obtain: Chapter 9
Where to obtain: Purchase from Don Corneo's Mansion
Review: A tune of villainy if even I heard one. While the track manages to create the vibe it set out for, its success does not overturn my disgust. 0/10
Track 12 Fight On!
When to obtain: Chapter 14
Where to obtain: Purchase from Souvenir Shop in Colosseum. This Disc is part of the "Power of Music" questline.
Review: A true anthem for persistence in what is a worrying time. Rock out and rage to this ballad showing the world that it can't keep you down. 7/10
Track 13 The Chase
When to obtain: Chapter 14
Where to obtain: Purchase from Vending Machine in Sewer
Review: Fast-paced and full of conflict. The soft fleeting piano attempting to make its escape until the horns arrive and the tempo kicks up a notch. Wonderfully suspenseful. 8/10
Track 14 Main Theme of FFVII
When to obtain: Chapter 13
Where to obtain: Purchase from Vending Machine in Shinra Test Facility
Review: This jazz remix of the original FFVII theme takes a bit to pick up but once the whole band is involved it's an instant classic. 9/10
Track 15 On Our Way
When to obtain: Chapter 13
Where to obtain: Purchase from Evergreen Park Item Shop
Review: This soft piano piece is nice to hear, but just doesn't have that something to help it stand out. 3/10
Track 16 Good Night, Until Tomorrow
When to obtain: Chapter 14
Where to obtain: Obtain from a man in Wall Market Inn. This Disc is part of the "Power of Music" questline.
Review: A lullaby of the Prelude. This mix is much closer to the original with added elements of calm. I think my mother used to play this to me in the slums to get me to sleep. 9/10
Track 17 Farm Boy
When to obtain: Chapter 9
Where to obtain: Obtain from cowgirls in Wall Market
Review: While nice Farm Boy doesn't have any standout part. It sounds like it should be background music for one of Shinra's video games or something. 4/10
Track 18 Electric de Chocobo
When to obtain: Chapter 6
Where to obtain: Purchase from Vending Machine
Review: This electro remix of the Chocobo theme brings the surf rock to Midgar. A great song for any party, most will be able to get down to it. 8/10
Track 19 Costa Del Sol
When to obtain: Chapter 8
Where to obtain: Purchase from Sector 5 Slums Materia Shop
Review: This fantastic flamenco piece just drools summer resort living. While the closest to that I can get is the lake near Wall Market nothing beats Costa Del Sol under the sun. 8/10
Track 20 Gold Saucer
When to obtain: Chapter 8
Where to obtain: Purchase from Sector 5 Slums Moogle Shop
Review: Like the Gold Saucer itself this track is flash and fantastical. While last time I went I lost a lot of money, this track still brings a smile to my face. 7/10
Track 21 Cait Sith's Theme
When to obtain: Chapter 8
Where to obtain: Purchase from Sector 5 Station Vending Machine
Review: A bit of jazz swing to get down to. Between the strong horns and tasty bass, you're sure to be tapping your toes while listening to this piece. 7/10
Track 22 Cosmo Canyon
When to obtain: Chapter 9
Where to obtain: Purchase from Sector 6 Collapsed Expressway Vending Machine
Review: The electric guitar solo is smooth and well-executed but just doesn't bring the happiness or excitement of some of these other music discs. What even is a Cosmo Canyon? 4/10
Track 23 Descendant of Shinobi
When to obtain: Chapter 14
Where to obtain: Purchase from Johnny at Sector 5 Station
Review: This rambling track has a pleasant small country town feel to it. The melody is strong and easy to whistle along to, be warned those who are susceptible to stuck tunes. 6/10
Track 24 Wutai
When to obtain: Chapter 14
Where to obtain: Obtain from a man in Wall Market Advancement District
Review: This refreshing Eastern-themed track highlights some of the beautiful stringed and woodwind instruments that just aren't found in Midgar. Uniqueness aside the piece is beautiful. 8/10
Track 25 Tango of Tears
When to obtain: Chapter 8
Where to obtain: Interact with Leaf House Jukebox
Review: Much like this track the tango is representative of a battle. You and your partner know the stakes and duel step in step. 7/10
Track 26 Let the Battles Begin! -REMAKE-
When to obtain: Chapter 9
Where to obtain: In the Honeybee Inn dance tutorial get more than 10 "Great" ratings
Review: There are some really strong parts to this track, including the bridge moments but the main chorus's instruments get a bit too squeaky when hitting the high notes. A bit more conviction would have made this a perfect techno-pop remix. 9/10
Track 27 Hip Hop de Chocobo
When to obtain: Chapter 3
Where to obtain: Obtain from NPC to the right of Seventh Heaven in Sector 7 Slums
Review: I don't think that anyone would have ever asked for a trap remix of the Chocobo theme.... but I can't say I'm disappointed with the results. This song slaps. 10/10
Track 28 Stamp
When to obtain: Chapter 5
Where to obtain: Purchase from Corkscrew Tunnel Vending Machine
Review: An anthem of the horrible wars of the past. Stamp has truly done a lot for us here at Midgar, especially for those we lost. 1 minute silence/10
Track 29 The Midgar Blues
When to obtain: Chapter 9
Where to obtain: Obtain from karaoke singer in Wall Market bar
Review: So I'm going to be honest, this guy just handed me his mix tape and while it's clear that he's put a lot of effort into this there's a reason he's probably stuck in some dive bar doing karaoke... 2/10
Track 30 Stand Up
When to obtain: Chapter 14
Where to obtain: Obtain from NPC behind Honeybee Inn in Wall Market. This Disc is part of the "Power of Music" questline.
Review: Welcome to the Honeybee Inn, nothing better than walking into the club and hearing this anthem playing. The dancing always pops off as soon as it begins. Is it too early to go to the Honeybee already? 9/10
Track 31 Scarlett's Theme
When to obtain: Chapter 16
