Fields of Mistria Magic Guide | How to Unlock Spells

This Fields of Mistria Magic Guide will tell you how to unlock magic, how to get more magic spells, and how to increase your Mana!

Fields of Mistria has plenty of mundane things to do such as blacksmithing and farming, but there's a little bit of magic in these lands, too. As you explore the Mines, you'll eventually uncover the mystery of using ancient magical spells to make your life on the farm easier.

How to Unlock Magic in Fields of Mistria

You can unlock magic in Fields of Mistria by gaining access to the Mines and making your way down to Level 10. Once you do, the dragon statue of Caldarus will speak to you when you return to your farm and he'll give you the Full Restore spell and your first Mana Point.

How Magic Works

Once you've unlocked magic, you can cast spells by pressing "C" on the keyboard (or whatever other button you've chosen). It takes a small amount of time for a spell to charge up before you can cast it. You can cancel casting the spell for no penalty by releasing the button that casts magic spells.

You can only have one active spell at a time. You can choose your active spell by going to the "Magic Spells" tab in the menu. This menu tab will tell you what each spell does and what it costs. Select your desired spell and press the "Pin Spell" button to make it your active spell.

As you might expect, casting a spell costs Mana. Spells have different Mana costs. If you don't have enough Mana, you won't be able to cast the spell.

How to Unlock More Magic

You can unlock more magic in Fields of Mistria by progressing deeper into the Mines. Every 20 levels, you'll be presented with a magical seal that you'll have to break. Once you break the seal, you'll gain a new spell the next time you pass by the dragon statue of Caldarus on your farm.

How to Restore Mana

There are two ways to restore Mana in Fields of Mistria:

1. Resting at the end of the day to restore 1/4 (one-quarter) of a Mana Point
2. Consuming an item that restores Mana

Unfortunately, items that restore Mana are quite rare. They can't be purchased or crafted as far as I know; you'll only be able to find them in random loot chests. That means that you'll be restoring your Mana by waiting for a few days most of the time.

How to Increase Your Maximum Mana

You can increase your maximum Mana in Fields of Mistria by breaking the magical seals placed every 20 levels in the Mines. Each seal you break will unlock a new spell and one additional Mana Point. The new spell and Mana Point will be given to you by the dragon statue of Caldarus the next time you're on your farm.

Here's how to unlock all of the Fields of Mistria magic that we've found thus far.

Full Restore

• How to Unlock: Reach Level 10 in the Mines
• Spell Cost: 1 Mana
• Effect: Fully restores your Health and Stamina.

Summon Rain

• How to Unlock: Open the Water Seal in Level 20 of the Mines and talk to Caldurus' Statue on your farm.
• Spell Cost: 1 Mana
• Effect: Summons a rainstorm that waters your crops.

Growth

• How to Unlock: Open the Earth Seal in Level 40 of the Mines and talk to Caldarus' Statue on your farm.
• Spell Cost: 2 Mana
• Effect: Fully grows crops in a 3x3 area when cast. It can also progress tree growth by 1 stage.
