Unlocking characters in Disney Dreamlight Valley is vital to progression and success. Donald Duck is of course one of the characters you will be able to bring back to the Valley, and he comes with some perks when you save him from the Dark Grove, as well as bonus Friendship tier unlocks. In this Disney Dreamlight Valley Donald Duck Guide, we will discuss how to unlock Donald and what he can do for you and your village.
How to Unlock Donald Duck in Disney Dreamlight Valley
To unlock Donald Duck, you will first need to open the Forest of Valor with 5,000 Dreamlight, and find Kristoff within the forest. From there, Kristoff will tell you how Donald got stuck inside of some unknown Dark Grove in an attempt to save the village from a dark shadowy figure. You will first go into the Grove, and look around. Directly on the ground in front of the portal, there will be a Duck Feather that belongs to Donald of course. Bring that back to Kristoff, where he will then ask you to find Merlin in order to determine how to find Doanld through the thick mist that won't allow you through the Grove.
Merlin says the only way to find Donald is to use magic of course, where he asks you to collect an Emerald, Dream Shard, Doanlds Feather and a Vine from inside of the Dark Grove to create a Magic Feather that will lead you to Donald Duck through the mist. Once you have all of those items, you will bring them to Merlin where he will imbue the feather with magic. Travel back to the portal inside of the Forest of Valor, and the feather will begin to guide you to where Donald is. After you find him, he will explain what happened and how he got lost looking for the shadowy figure in the mist, and how there is some form of Castle off in the distance, but you never actually see it.
Once you rescue Donald, you will need to go back to the Valley and help him rebuild his home, which is a tugboat, in order to make him happy and offer you a few tokens of gratitude. You will also find a time capsule while you are cleaning up his house, which he mentions is not complete, and that you will need to fid the rest of the pieces of his "blueprint for the best invention ever" that he has scattered around the Valley.

Each character comes with a set of bonus unlocks that you can obtain by growing your friendship level with each of them. All of them offer different things, so let's discuss each bonus unlock Donald Duck has to offer:
- Friendship Level 1: Unlocks Donald Duck the Character and the Time Capsule Quest
- Friendship Level 2: Unlocks Daisy Duck Backpack
- Friendship Level 3: Unlocks an Outfit Overlay
- Friendship Level 4: Unlocks 500 Star Coins
- Friendship Level 5: Unlocks the Chest Decoration
- Friendship Level 6: Unlocks Dnald Duck Outfit Overlay
- Friendship Level 7: Unlocks 1,000 Star Coins
- Friendship Level 8: Unlocks the Donald Duck Shelf Decoration
- Friendship Level 9: Unlocks a Donald Decoration
- Friendship Level 10: Unlocks the Donal Duck Sailor Suit Outfit
- in order to unlock tier 10, you must also complete all of Donald's friendship quests.
