This Core Keeper Pyrdra Boss Fight Guide will teach you how to summon and defeat the third and final hydra Titan boss in The Desert of Beginnings.
The final boss of the hydra trio in Core Keeper is Pyrdra the Fire Titan. Defeating it means you've collected all the boss souls you need to unlock the main storyline ending. This is how to find, summon, and vanquish Pyrdra in Core Keeper.
Where to Find Pyrdra the Fire Titan in Core Keeper
Pyrdra wanders throughout the Desert of Beginnings and is easy to locate with the appropriate scanner. Like the other two hydra, the scanner can be made at the Ancient Hologram Pod using:
- x10 Ancient Gemstone
- x10 Mechanical Part
- x10 Galaxite Bar
- x3 Radiation Crystal
Use the scanner to have Pyrdra's exact location among the sands tracked on the map.
How to Summon Pyrdra in Core Keeper
You'll need to craft the final summoning instrument at the Hydra Altar to initiate combat with Pyrdra. To make the Wind Organ of Fire, you'll need:
- x20 Gleam Wood Plank
- x15 Solarite Bar
- x1 Desert Ruby
- x1 White Hydra Eye
The Desert Ruby can be gained by finding an Arena in the Shimmering Frontier connected to the desert, though you may already have one from completing other arenas. You obtained the White Hydra Eye by defeating Crydra, the second hydra titan.
You want to summon Pyrdra where you have plenty of space to outrun attacks, so choose a large, clear area to place the instrument. When the hydra is close by, activate it to attract it to you. If it's too far away, there won't be any rumble or roar to signify it worked.
How to Win Against Pyrdra | Core Keeper Boss Fight Best Strategy
Pyrdra is the strongest of the the three hydra titans, and like Crydra, has a shadow of two previous hydra bosses fight with it. This can make for a challenging combat, but with some preparation and upgraded items, you'll defeat it the first time around.
Preparing Equipment and Supplies
For this fight, you're going to want to have all your equipment upgraded as much as possible. Special items that negate fire damage and burning, like magic shields given by food or having a three set of the Magma Armor.
Pyrdra Attacks
- Laser Beam: This beam can extend quite a distance and will follow you.
- Chomp: It bites you when in melee range.
- Homing Lava: Targets appear on the ground that lava shoots to. Leaves Ground Magma Slime tiles where hit.
The shadow Druidra and Crydra will have all their attacks, minus Druidra being able to summon a centipede. Most of the fight will revolve around dodging laser beams while inflicting damage on Pyrdra.
Pyrdra Boss Fight Best Strategy — Ranged
By this fight you should be aware how the hydra boss battles go. Using that knowledge in this combat will help you take Pyrdra out on the first try.
Hands down, the best way to take out out Pyrdra quickly is to use ranged attacks, physical or magic. This allows you to continuously dodge all attacks coming from Pyrdra, as well as the two shadow hydras. Warlock minions will be able to reach the Fire Titan since the battle takes place on land, giving this build a significant leg up on regular ranged builds.
The only time you want to switch to melee is when Pyrdra's shield is down and the other hydras are tunneling or a distance away where they can't hit you. If you don't have high melee damage, stay with ranged abilities and attacks to reduce the need for healing potions.
