In this Core Keeper Cooking Guide, we'll tell you how cooking works and list all of the recipes we've found in the game so far!

Core Keeper Cooking Guide | How Cooking Works

Cooking in Core Keeper involves combining two items together into a Cooking Pot, a workbench that is crafted at the Basic Workbench. If it's a new recipe, it will be added to the Cookbook once it's completed. You can access the cookbook by clicking the green book in the Cooking Pot.

The combination of two items is not simply an additive process. For example, the Hearty Pepper Wrap is made with a Heart Berry and a Bomb Pepper. Compare the stats of the two individual items versus the prepared dish:

  • Heart Berry
    • +11 food
    • +2.8 health every sec for 20 sec
  • Bomb Pepper
    • +6 food
    • -11 health
  • Heart Berry + Bomb Pepper
    • +17 food
    • +2.8 health every sec for 20 sec
    • -11 health
  • Hearty Pepper Wrap
    • +28 food
    • +21% movement speed for 1 min
    • +25 max health for 5 min
    • +2.8 health every sec for 20 sec

Generally speaking, combining any two items will give you all of their benefits (and, in some cases, higher numbers). Some combinations will also add entirely new benefits, too; note that the +21% movement speed in the above example is not listed on either base item.

There are literally hundreds of possible combinations of food. It's best to experiment with every item that can be cooked to see what suits your needs best!
