After you've figured out the basics of Chef RPG, you'll get to work on expanding your restaurant and learning new recipes. One of the ways you can enhance your abilities is by learning new recipes (and improving existing recipes) through the research system. Read on to learn all about it!

How to Unlock Research in Chef RPG

You can unlock Chef RPG Research by taking the "Research Facilities" skill. This will give you the option to renovate one of the two buildings behind Le Sequoia and install either a BBQ Research Facility, a Vegetarian Research Facility, or a Baking Research Facility.

Once you've unlocked the first wave of research buildings, you can subsequently take the "Molecular Gastronomy" skill and unlock another three buildings: the Mixology Research Facility, the Seafood Research Facility, and the Molecular Gastronomy  Research Facility.

Keep in mind that there are only two buildings behind Le Sequoia. That means each building can only have one of three possible Research Facilities:

• Left Building: the BBQ Research Facility, the Vegetarian Research Facility, or the Baking Research Facility.
• Right Building: the Mixology Research Facility, the Seafood Research Facility, and the Molecular Gastronomy  Research Facility.

You can replace any existing Research Facility with one of the other ones in a set. Therefore, it's best to focus on completing one area of research at a time and then move on to the next building.

How Chef RPG Research Works

Chef RPG Research is broken down into two distinct systems: research and enhancement. The research system allows you to level up progress in a particular field of research and unlock new recipes and other benefits. The enhancement system, meanwhile, allows you to improve existing recipes.

In both cases, you'll level up progress in a research facility by combining ingredients and cooking food. Much like real culinary research, you'll end up going through a lot of ingredients in order to progress through the research system.

Unfortunately, the Chef RPG research system is a little buggy as of Early Access Version 0.5; it is sometimes impossible to interact with the research stations. It's probably best to avoid investing too much time into it until it's been properly patched.
