Our Chef RPG Brewing Guide will tell you everything you need to know about brewing tea, coffee, and alcohol for your restaurant! We also have figured out the ingredient bonuses for coffee and tea and the brewing recipes for various kinds of alcohol in the game.
There's more to Chef RPG than just collecting ingredients around the map — you'll also unlock the ability to brew various drinks that can give your employees buffs or earn you a tidy profit. In this guide, we'll tell you everything you need to know about brewing tea, coffee, and alcohol!
How Chef RPG Brewing Works
There are three kinds of Chef RPG brewing: Tea brewing, Coffee brewing, and Alcohol brewing. Tea and Coffee are crafted at dispensers in the restaurant which can then be used to give temporary buffs to you and your staff while the restaurant is open. Alcohol brewing, on the other hand, gives you Alcohol ingredients that can be consumed, sold, or used in cooking.
Brewing is unlocked in the early portion of Act 2. You'll meet April and get a free Tea Dispenser for your restaurant. After that, you'll have to craft a Coffee Dispenser and any Alcohol brewing devices at Bits & Pieces in town. Brewing Tea and Coffee happens instantly, but brewing Alcohol can take anywhere from 4–7 days depending on what you're making.
How to Brew Tea
Brewing Tea in Chef RPG involves using a Tea Dispenser; you get one for free from April in the early parts of Act 2. You must put at least 10 Tea Leaves in the Tea Dispenser to brew Tea, and you can add additional ingredients to the tea for different effects.
An important concept to understand is "distillation." Each ingredient buffs certain effects to various levels, but it also dilutes the effects of other buffs. Here's an example of three Tea brews and their effects:
- 10 Tea Leaves: +50% Stamina Recovery, +8% Speed Bonus
- 10 Tea Leaves, 40 Honeycomb: +10% Stamina Recovery, +16% Energy Depletion, +8% Speed Bonus
- 10 Tea Leaves, 20 Honeycomb, 20 Elderberries: +10% Stamina Recovery, +12% Energy Depletion, +8% Speed Bonus, +8% Cooking Bonus
In the first example, we see that tea has a baseline of +50% Stamina Recovery and +8% Speed Bonus. Adding 40 Honeycomb dilutes the bonus from the Tea; while you gain +16% Energy Depletion, you also lose +40% Stamina Recovery.
Now let's look at the second example. 10 Tea Leaves, 20 Honeycomb, and 20 Elderberries reduce the base Stamina Recovery down to +10%. Energy Depletion is only +12%, but you also gain a +8% Cooking Bonus.
Essentially, it's all about tradeoffs and deciding which bonuses you want to prioritize. You can mix up to 4 different ingredients, up to a total of 50 individual items. Every brew must have a mandatory 10 Tea Leaves as a base.
Look at the different effects Tea Ingredients give in the list below and decide how you want to brew your tea. Then, experiment with it and try to optimize it for the biggest bonus!
Additional Tea Dispensers can be crafted at Bits & Pieces, Bianca's shop in town. Your staff will make use of the Tea you've brewed to gain its buffs while you're serving customers. You can also drink the Tea yourself, but only while the restaurant is open.

How to Brew Coffee
Brewing coffee in Chef RPG works much the same as brewing tea, although there some key differences. Coffee requires Coffee Beans instead of Tea Leaves, and it has a few ingredients that you can't put in Tea such as Coconuts and Pumpkins. Coffee also has the potential for different bonuses in some cases.
As with Tea, you need a minimum of 10 Coffee Beans as a base to brew Coffee. You can add whatever other ingredients you'd like to get various other bonuses at the expense of the Coffee's natural bonuses.
You can craft additional Coffee Dispensers at Bianca's Shop "Bits & Pieces." As with Tea Dispensers, your staff can drink Coffee to get bonuses while the restaurant is open and you can partake in it yourself as well.

How to Brew Alcohol
Alcohol is probably the most complex Chef RPG brewing system. You will need to insert specific amounts of ingredients into several of five separate devices. They are:
- Boiling Vat: Brewing Phase 1. Can either "Boil" or "Steam" ingredients.
- Fruit Press: Brewing Phase 1. Can either "Mash" or "Juice" ingredients.
- Fermentation Tank: Brewing Phase 2. Ferments alcohol.
- Distiller: Brewing Phase 3. Distills alcohol.
- Aging Barrels: Brewing Phase 3. Allows alcohol to age.
Each stage of the process takes around 2 days, although some processes can take 3 days. Not every alcohol requires all three steps.
As an example, making Vodka involves Boiling Wheat to make Wheat Mash, Fermenting the Wheat Mash to make Vodka Wash, and finally Distilling the Vodka Wash to make Vodka. In comparison, "Beer!" is made by Boiling Barley into Wort and then Fermenting Wort into Beer.
Processing an ingredient incorrectly in Stage 1 will give you Waste Material, a largely useless item. Processing an ingredient incorrectly in Stage 3 will give you Rancid Alcohol. These items can be put into the compost bin in the greenhouse and they're not good for much else beyond that.
