This Brighter Shores Scout Leveling Guide will tell you how the Scout profession works in the Episode 2 zone Hopeforest and how you can level it up fast!

Combat is a big part of Brighter Shores and the game's second episode is no exception — the woods of Hopeforest have even deadlier enemies for you to face. Your Guard experience and your Episode 1 equipment won't count for much in this new area, so get ready to start from the bottom again!

Some of the enemies you'll have to fight in Episode 2 are a little bigger than you're used to.

How the Scout Profession Works in Brighter Shores

Simply put, the Scout profession is the same thing as the Guard profession in Hopeport. Traveling to the second Episode's zone Hopeforest means that you're out of range of the Hopeport Obelisk and you'll need to get a whole new set of weapons and armor. It also means that you'll effectively need to start leveling up your combat skills from scratch.

All of the same rules for the Guard profession apply to the Scout profession. Orange enemies will ignore you unless attacked, and red enemies can initiate combat if you get too close to them. Some of the enemies in Episode 2 have ranged attacks; this makes avoiding combat in Hopeforest a little trickier compared to Hopeport.

Thankfully, the Immunity Spell is still available and it works just as before; you can use it preemptively to prevent combat or use it during battle to escape from a fight.

Finally, the same level-up mechanics apply to enemies as it does with other professions; eventually, the lower-level enemies are replaced with higher-level versions as you gain levels in the Scout profession. Be especially careful when you're going through areas with a lot of red enemies!

How to Level the Brighter Shores Scout Profession Fast

Leveling up the Brighter Shores Scout profession fast, at its core, requires you to work your way through as many enemies as you can as quickly as possible. As with all professions, you'll want to have a regional XP boost potion active at all times; the potion for Hopeforest requires you to gather some low-level ingredients from the same area.

There's one important difference between Scout and Guard — in Episode 2, you'll have to join one of the three factions in the Magic Cave. While this faction choice will give you an advantage against certain enemies, it will also make you vulnerable to certain types of damage. You should pay extra attention to the elemental vulnerabilities and immunities of enemies while leveling.

The enemies in Hopeforest are a fair bit stronger than those in Hopeport. If you're using up lots of potions or you're consistently losing fights, it's probably a good idea to drop back down to fighting lower-level enemies until you get better gear drops or you get a little stronger. Some enemies are just naturally tougher to fight than others, too.,

As for your loot, you can sell all of the excess equipment that you get at the exact same place — take it all to the Quartermaster in Hopeport and he'll happily buy all of the useless weapons and armor that you loot from the enemies in Hopeforest.
