This guide will tell you how the Brighter Shores Gatherer profession works and what you need to do to level it up as fast as possible.
The Brighter Shores Gatherer profession is essentially the Forager profession in a new area and it has a lot in common with it — the ingredients you gather can be used for cooking and making potions. Read on to learn everything you need to know about gathering plants in Hopeforest!
How the Gatherer Profession Works in Brighter Shores
The Brighter Shores Gatherer profession is essentially the same as the Forager Profession in Hopeport. You'll have to collect wild plants throughout Hopeforest and, eventually, you'll need to purchase some specialized tools. Fortunately, you won't need to buy as many tools as you did with the Forager profession.
Most of the items you'll acquire with the Gatherer profession will be used with the Alchemist profession, typically for higher-level potions or for potions specific to Hopeforest. For example, the XP Hopeforest Potion requires Bulged Haleberries and Tad Apple, items which you can gather at Level 10 and Level 6 of Gatherer, respectively.
A smaller portion of items are used in the Chef profession. Most of the Chef profession's recipes involve forage, fish, or raw ingredients found in Hopeport.
As with the other gathering professions, it's best to avoid selling the raw ingredients if possible. Instead, you should save them in order to make potions with Alchemy or food with the Chef profession; this will gain you XP in those professions and make you a little more money.
How to Level the Brighter Shores Gatherer Profession Fast
You can level up the Brighter Shores Gatherer profession fast by making use of XP Hopeforest potions and focusing on grabbing the highest-level items that you can reliably get. Unfortunately, you're going to have to do a fair amount of teleporting.
First, you'll ideally want to level the Alchemist profession to Level 14 before you progress to Hopeforest. This will give you access to the XP Hopeforest 5% Potion which increases XP gain by 5% for 2 minutes. You should always have plenty of XP Hopeforest Potions on hand if you want to level quickly.
Secondly, you'll want to get the Woodcutter profession to Level 8; this will allow you to cut away the Brambles that block certain paths and allow you to move around Hopeforest much quicker.
Once you've done those two things, you should focus on harvesting the highest-level item that matches your Gatherer profession skill level. Higher-level items grant you more XP in that profession; don't waste your time picking up low-level stuff.
I recommend that you empty your inventory except for 1 or 2 XP Hopeforest potions. Use the potion and gather up as many plants as you can until the potion runs out or your backpack is full. When your backpack is full, you can use the Teleport spell to return to Hopeport.
You should then take your backpack full of ingredients and deposit them in the Potion Reagents Bank in the Apothecary or the Ingredients Bank in the Delectable Dab Kitchen; both of these places can be found on Stone Street. While you may be able to sell some raw ingredients, it's better to craft them into food or potions so you can gain XP in those professions, too.
Finally, getting the Gatherer profession to level 20 will allow you to spend a Knowledge Point and train it passively at special locations in Hopeforest. As always, you can only passively train one profession at a time, so choose wisely!
