This Brighter Shores Carpenter Leveling Guide tells you everything you need to know about the Carpenter Profession and what you need to do to level it fast.
The second episode of Brighter Shores is filled with tons of trees that you can cut down, but all of that lumber isn't good for much on its own. The Woodcutter profession allows you to make those logs into useful items that can be sold for a profit — read on to learn all about the Carpenter profession!
How the Carpenter Profession Works in Brighter Shores
The Carpenter Profession is all about turning raw wood into useful products. Generally speaking, wood is processed into one object from logs at a ratio of 1 to 2. For example, a single Ash Log makes two Ash Planks. Therefore, filling up your Backpack with logs will result in two Backpacks full of Carpenter items.
As you advance in levels, some of the items can be processed a second time; some logs, for example, can be turned on the lathe and made into poles. These poles can later be sold right at the counter in the Carpenter's Workshop or used for crafting.
In the early game, most of the stuff you produce can only be sold to make money. Later, however, you'll be able to make items such as shields using a more complex crafting system. You'll have to make your way to Episode 3 before you can do anything with that, though.
How to Level the Brighter Shores Carpenter Profession Fast
Leveling the Brighter Shores Carpenter Profession fast is largely about cutting down as many trees as you can and processing the wood at the Carpenter's Workshop in Timberwell Green. Fortunately, the Carpenter Profession has some unique quirks that make leveling it up a little easier.
First and foremost, you'll want to make sure to always have an XP Hopeforest potion active if possible — that 5% (or higher) experience boost counts for a lot in the long run!
If you're not keen on cutting down a bunch of trees, you can purchase wood from Gwen's Lumber. This will save you a lot of time, but it also costs you money; generally speaking, you won't make a profit if you purchase your lumber. Leveling up with this strategy could require a lot of money.
Unfortunately, the Passive Activities for Carpenter are almost entirely dependent on the items you get from the Woodcutter Passive Activities. You can buy the branches you'll need for Carpenter Passive Activities, but this, too, will not result in a profit. It's always more profitable to get the wood yourself if you can (and you'll level up the Woodcutter profession, too!).
