This guide will show you all of the Avowed Unique Item locations that we've discovered, and we'll also tell you how you can upgrade your unique weapons.
How Unique Items Work in Avowed
Every Avowed Unique Item has one or two unique enchantments that make them superior to base weapons. While some enchantments can be found on multiple items, they can appear in different combinations.
Weapons, armor, off-hand items, gloves, and boots will typically have two enchantments apiece. Unique rings, amulets, and trinkets typically have one enchantment. Furthermore, unique weapons can have the first of their two enchantments upgraded (which is marked by a diamond).
Unique Weapons, Unique Off-Hand Items, and Unique Armor can be upgraded at the Workbench in your Party Camp. You'll need a specific quality of materials to upgrade each item from 0/3 to 3/3, and then you'll need a specific quality of Adra to upgrade that item to the next tier. You can also craft older upgrade materials into new ones, including Adra.
Unique Items scale to your character's power as you discover them in the world or receive them as quest rewards; items that can be upgraded will typically be a quality level appropriate to your character's current progress. Regardless, all Unique Weapons, Unique Off-Hand Items, and Unique Armor can be upgraded at your Camp.
How to Upgrade Unique Item Enchantments
You can upgrade the first enchantment of unique weapons (which is marked by a diamond) by using the Enchanting Station at your party camp. Generally speaking, you can choose between a more powerful version of the first enchantment or an alternate enchantment.
For example, the Unique one-handed sword "Last Light of Day" found in Dawnshore has the following enchantments:
- Golden Sun's Ascent - Killing an enemy restores 3% of your Maximum Health
- Dawn's Remembrance - Hits deal +10% bonus Fire Damage
The first enchantment (Golden Sun's Ascent) can be replaced with one of these two options:
- Golden Sun's Zenith: Killing an enemy restores 10% of your Maximum Health
- Blinding Daybreak: A successful Parry deals high Stun to the attacking enemy
Sadly, you can't enchant an item for free — you'll need to use enchanting materials that drop off of monsters. You can also buy these materials in stores.
Upgrading a Unique Weapon's enchantment is permanent; you can't make a different choice once you've changed the enchantment.
