Avowed Totem of Defiance Pieces Guide | Emerald Stair Totem

There are four different Totems to be collected in Avowed, and each one can enhance your character's traits depending on your class and playstyle. The Emerald Stair Totem, called the Totem of Defiance and a totem dedicated to Skaen, can be found in Avowed's second region. To help you find all 7 pieces to restore this totem, we've put together a map and details of where to find each one!

If you purchase Fragments of the Offering from Luisia in Farmer's Market for 500 Skeyt, you'll also have some clues to hunt down each of the pieces of the Emerald Stair Totem in Avowed. Jump to the Map, if you just want to know where they are.

Emerald Stair Totem Bonuses

With every totem you complete, you're able to activate it and gain 6 different buffs that remain active until you activate a different totem. The bonuses for the Totem of Defiance are:

• Furious Frenzy: Second Wind casts Flurry of Blows
• The Slave's Patience: +2 Constitution, +2 Dexterity
• Hidden Hatred: Increases your damage against unaware enemies by 25%
• Kill the Master: Increases your damage against "Skull" enemies
• Bitter Thoughts: Critical Hits deal high Poison Accumulation
• A Vengeful Victim: After taking damage from an enemy, your next attack within 10 seconds deals +20% of the original damage you received. Stacks with Retribution.

Totem Core: The Schemer's Offering

• Clue: To find the totem of the Quiet Slave, an ancient tower you must brave.
• The Schemer's Offering Location: Found at the top of the Shrine to Skaen, found inside the Wildwoods to the west of Tama's Cabin and the Godless Sinkhole.

Piece 1: Sacrificial Dagger

• Clue: Left alone in fallow fields, the ritual blade thirsts for skin freshly peeled.
• Sacrificial Dagger Location: Found through a note and stabbed to a wall in the northernmost building of the Abandoned Farms in the north of Emerald Stair.

Piece 2: Idol of Covert Plots

• Clue: In a place of worship amidst moldering rot, this idol continues to scheme and plot.
• Idol of Covert Plots Location: In the grim wetlands, just north of the "m" in Grim, there's a small temple. Defeat the skeletons nearby and head around to the back to see a switch on the lantern of a statue. You'll find this inside.

Piece 3: Idol of Secret Hatred

• Clue: In a damp hollow its sibling waits full of rage, while its previous owner decays with age.
• Idot of Secret Hatred Location: Found deep inside the Ancient Grotto found across the river to the northwest of Naku Tedek Grounds.

Piece 4: Idol of Violent Rebellion

• Clue: From on high the third surveys the land, sewing the seeds of revolt near at hand.
• Idol of Violent Rebellion Location: Found at the top of the Ranger Headquarters Tower.

Piece 5: Obsidian Prayer Beads

• Clue: In a verdant glade where old ruins crumble, you will find beads dark and umbral.
• Obsidian Prayer Beads Location: Found in the far west side of The Delemgan Glade. There's a cave there that overlooks the glade, and there's an overlook just outside it. To reach it, you'll need to climb up the root, and then jump across to pick this up. See the below image.

Piece 6: Effigy Necklace

• Clue: Hidden in ruins of heathens longe, the octet of skulls sings its silent song
• Effigy Necklace Location: Found beneath the Adra inside Naku Tedek. You'll go here during the main quest once Giatta joins your party, head to the left and trigger the door with electricity, then make your way across the water with spells or throwables to find this on a table above.
