Avowed Heart of Valor Quest Choice | Should You Give the Leviathan Heart to Keipo or Chiko?
Unfortunately, the Avowed Heart of Valor quest choice is not an easy one. Giving the Leviathan Heart to Keipo may be the merciful choice, but giving the Leviathan Heart to Chiko can get you a set of seriously impressive loot.
In the Shatterscarp Side Quest "Heart of Valor," the retired adventurer Keipo asks you to retrieve his Leviathan Heart from a dungeon. It is only revealed later that he intends to use it to make a poison that will quickly end his life — he is slowly succumbing to the Dreamscourge and he wants to die on his own two feet. His niece Chiko, however, wants him to live.
If you give the Leviathan Heart to Keipo, he will thank you for helping him by giving you the Unique Item "Umpara's Spear," a powerful One-Handed Spear that can launch a poison dart with Power Attacks and has +25% Critical Damage. You'll also get to meet Chiko again during the Siege of Paradis.
On the other hand, giving the Leviathan Heart to Chiko will net you a full set of Unique Armor and a Unique Ring:
- Stormdancer's Scale (Medium Armor)
- Sheltering Gale: 5% chance to avoid ranged damage
- Shock-Proofed: +30% resistance to Shock Accumulation
- Stormdancer Gloves
- Item Bonus: +10% Ability Cast Speed
- Thundering Blows: Power Attacks deal +5% bonus Shock Damage
- Stormdancer Boots
- Item Bonus: -10% incoming Fire, Frost, and Shock Damage
- Static Charge: +10% Shock Damage for 10 seconds after dodging
- Stormdancer Ring
- Sky-Mother's Punishment: +10% Shock Damage
Additionally, you can choose to keep the Leviathan Heart for yourself. This will give you the "Heart of the Leviathan" Trinket with an interesting ability: it gives you +20% Attack Damage while slowly draining your health.
If your only concern is loot, it might be better for you to avoid giving the Leviathan Heart to Keipo. If you do give it to him, you can find some comfort in the fact that Chiko finds some new purpose in life — she is one of the many characters seen helping the allied forces at the final fight during the Siege of Paradis.
