This guide will explain the Avowed Escape Plan quest choice and tell you whether you should help Leoflaed and Glaedwine or turn them in to the authorities — and which of the two options is the better choice.

Avowed Escape Plan Quest Choice | Should you Help Leoflaed and Glaedwine Escape?
Yes, you should help Leoflaed and Glaedwine escape when the time comes to make the Avowed Escape Plan quest choice. Aside from feeling good about letting a couple of refugees get a second chance, you'll also get a tangible reward later in the game.
In the first zone Dawnshore, you may come across Leoflaed and Glaedwine in the Shantytown area outside the town of Paradis. Alternatively, you may meet a friend of theirs named Remei Gardiola in Dawnshore. Either way, you'll speak with Leoflaed and Glaedwine and have the opportunity to start the Side Quest "Escape Plan."
Leoflaed and Glaedwine are refugees who fled their original homeland and are looking to make it to Thirdborn, the main city in the game's third region of Shatterscarp. Unfortunately, Glaedwine has gone blind and they have very little left to their names. They'll ask you to acquire the herb "Ondra's Kiss" and their Land Deeds at two separate locations in Dawnshore.
Along the way, you may learn that they committed murder in their homeland. This is the main choice to make. If you decide to turn them in, you won't get much in the way of useful rewards. However, helping them escape has some tangible benefits later on in your adventure.
After you've collected the Ondra's Kiss and the Land Deeds, you'll then be asked to talk to the smugglers to make final arrangements. You'll have to pay some money to help them leave unless you chose to free Ilora from her cell at the start of the game. If you freed Ilora, you won't have to pay a single Skeyt.
Your good deed will pay off in the third of four major zones, Shatterscarp. Make your way to Thirdborn and you'll meet some old friends from Dawnshore:

Leoflaed and Glaedwine have made it safely to their new home in Thirdborn and they'll call you over to them as soon as you see them. Ilora may be hanging out there, too! After a short chat, they'll reward your kindness by giving you the Unique Item "Gambeson of the Grand Empire."
This armor is especially useful for ranged characters — it reduces incoming damage to you and it gives you +15% Reload Speed. If you're a character who prefers to use bows or guns, then you'll definitely want to help Leoflaed and Glaedwine make it out of Dawnshore in "Escape Plan."
