This guide will show you the full Atomfall The Interchange Map and highlight the points of interest that you can explore in the massive B.A.R.D. bunker.

Atomfall The Interchange Map

Atomfall The Interchange Map with Marked Points of Interest and TechRaptor Watermark

The Atomfall The Interchange map is unique in several ways compared to the other regions. It has no support for coordinates, and it has a much higher amount of verticality compared to other regions.

Most of The Interchange is offline when you first enter it via Slatten Dale or elsewhere. You'll need to acquire several Atomic Batteries to restore it to full functionality. Unfortunately, this will also bring the Turrets online and you'll have to deal with those, too.

Notable Locations in The Interchange

Here are all of the places you'll visit in The Interchange.

Casterfell Woods

This is the path to Casterfell Woods. The lobby area is occupied by Outlaws.

Central Processor

The Central Processor is the hub that connects all of the region entrances to a central location. It has a screen that shows you the progress of powering The Interchange back up with Atomic Batteries.

Once you have all of the Atomic Batteries inserted and the doors unlocked, you can use a Signal Redirector on the floor to reactivate the Central Processor, opening up access to the Windscale Plant and the Oberon Dig Site.

Crane Controls

The Crane Controls can be accessed once you find the associated key for the door; using the crane will open up a small area with some loot.

Data Store Alpha

Data Store Alpha is covered in the same blue fungal infection that infests some of the other B.A.R.D. Bunkers in the Quarantine Zone. You'll need to complete a quest for Mother Jago and get the Strange Tonic recipe if you want to survive putting the Atomic Battery in here.

Data Store Bravo

Data Store Bravo is one of the locations where you'll need to insert an Atomic Battery to fully power The Interchange.

Data Store Charlie

Data Store Charlie is home to a button puzzle that opens up its associated Store Room. Joyce Tanner will eventually make this part of The Interchange her base of operations once you've met her in Casterfell Woods.

Data Store Delta

Data Store Delta is one of the locations where you'll need to insert an Atomic Battery to fully power The Interchange.

Medical

The Medical sector is one of the few locations where you'll encounter Thralls; these are incredibly tough humans that have been infected by the blue fungus that is ravaging the rest of the Quarantine Zone. You won't be able to access the lower areas of the Medical sector until you get the key from Dr. Holder in the basement of St. Katherine's Church.

Notably, the Medical sector contains several critical items needed to unlock some of the game's endings.

Medical Tunnels

The Medical Tunnels are a heavily infected area that has a few pieces of loot and some Thralls. It is notably one of the final locations you'll visit in certain endings.

Oberon Dig Site

The Oberon Dig Site is home to Oberon, the source of all of the troubles in the Quarantine Zone. This area is occupied by several Thralls and Ferals, and three B.A.R.D. Robots equipped with flamethrowers are constantly patrolling the center.

You can only reach the Oberon Dig Site by traveling through the Windscale Plant after you've restored power to The Interchange. All of the game's endings will require you to visit this location before you can escape the Quarantine Zone.

Robotics

As you might expect, the Robotics sector is the source of all of those B.A.R.D. Robots you've had to fight. It is also jam-packed with Turrets and active B.A.R.D. Robots protecting the area.

Much like the Medical sector, the Robotics sector has a lower level. You won't be able to access it unless you have the Signal Redirector tool.

Skethermoor

The pathway to Skethermoor appears to have been some kind of offices; it is occupied by heavily armed Protocol Soldiers. These soldiers eventually respawn as with most other areas, so make sure you keep your eyes open if you need to pass through this door.

Skethermoor Prison

The doorway to Skethermoor Prison can't be opened until you've freed Dr. Garrow from Skethermoor Prison by accessing that facility in the south of Skethermoor. Once you have, this will serve as an alternate path into Skethermoor's southern area. Since it's a prison, you can expect it to be filled with guards.

Slatten Dale

The doorway to Slatten Dale is relatively peaceful at the start of the game; you're able to waltz right into the Central Processor unopposed. However, the construction area just outside of the Slatten Dale gate will eventually be occupied by curious Outlaws.

Windscale Plant

The Windscale Plant is the nuclear plant that exploded and caused the Quarantine Zone to be established. It is packed full of Ferals, Thralls, and deadly mutant plants. You will have to pass through the Windscale Plant to reach the Oberon Dig Site for all six endings of the game.

Once you've destroyed Oberon, the Windscale Plant will be populated by different enemies depending on which ending you've selected; these could be Druids, Protocol Soldiers, or other things entirely.

Wyndham Village

The path to Wyndham Village is relatively safe except for a massive swarm of rats that will attack you as soon as you get too close. There are quite a few Ferals in this general area, too, so you should always pass through this gate with caution.
