This guide will tell you what happens when you make the Atomfall GEN ERA or GEN MOVE Choice and the long-term consequences of your actions.

The Atomfall GEN ERA or GEN MOVE Choice Explained
The Atomfall GEN ERA or GEN MOVE Choice takes place at the Casterfell Dam Data Store after you've met and spoken with Dr. Garrow and Joyce Tanner. Making this choice will disable your ability to complete one of the game's six endings, so read on to learn what to do.
As you progress through Atomfall, you'll meet several important NPCs that are scheming to escape the Quarantine Zone or destroy the Oberon meteorite. Two of these NPCs are Dr. Garrow and Joyce Tanner, and each of them has their own plans for the data at the Casterfell Dam Data Store. First, though, you'll have to find them.
Joyce Tanner can be found in the Remote Bunker in the northeast of Casterfell Woods. Dr. Garrow, however, is locked up in the basement of Skethermoor Prison in the southeast of Skethermoor.
Once you've met Joyce Tanner and rescued Dr. Garrow, they'll both show up in The Interchange after you've restored it to full power. Dr. Garrow will camp out in the Central Processor and Joyce Tanner will hang out in Data Store C.
Speak with Dr. Garrow and she'll task you with going to the Casterfell Dam Data Store to bring it back online using the Signal Redirector. Dr. Garrow then wants you to use the "GEN ERA" command at the console.
After you've spoken with Dr. Garrow, talk to Joyce Tanner. She will ask you to instead run the "GEN MOVE" command. Either way, you'll need to restore power to the computer at the Casterfell Dam Data Store.
When you reach the computer, you will be prompted to make your choice. Picking either option will cut off an ending and make the opposing NPC an enemy. Here's what happens:
- Run command GEN ERA: Progresses Dr. Garrow's ending scenario "Back Door," disables Joyce Tanner's ending scenario "Emergency Extraction" and makes Joyce Tanner an enemy.
- Run command GEN MOVE: Progresses Joyce Tanner's ending scenario "Emergency Extraction," disables Dr. Garrow's ending scenario "Back Door" and makes Dr. Garrow an enemy.
If you're trying to get all six endings in Atomfall, it would be wise to make a manual save before you make your choice. You can play things extra safe by going to the save directory and making a backup of your save files. After you have the other five endings, you can restore your backup and make the alternate choice to get the sixth and final ending.
