Atelier Yumia takes the series in a different direction, offering larger areas than before that are filled with things to find. This guide on the various maps of Atelier Yumia will go over each region of the game and where to find some of their secrets.

Map Completion

Atelier Yumia is made up of four regions which you’ll explore during the course of the story. Each one is split into sections, which become fully revealed as you activate Mana Circulators (the large round icons on the map surrounded by fog.)

Points of interest you haven’t found yet are marked by “?” icons. While these wont show on the full map until the Mana Circulator for a map segment is activated, markers always show on the minimap.

As you find new POIs, the Investigation Rate at the top of the map will increase. There are achievements/trophies for having this hit 100% in each area. Increasing the percentage does not require you to interact with POIs, revealing them is enough.

Exploration is occasionally blocked by a few different barriers:

Treasure Troves

Treasure Troves each contain a number of chests, usually unlocking new housing item recipes. Opening each requires a Treasure Trove Key, found in chests hidden across the first three regions.

Most Treasure Troves are optional. However, some Pioneering Effort goals require housing items to be crafted and the recipes for these are often found in troves. If you select one of these goals in the list, the trove containing the relevant recipe will be marked on the map.

Rock Walls

The Ligneus Region in Atelier Yumia includes a number of orange rock walls that block your way. The only way to remove these is by using Burst Ammo, unlocked by completing all Pioneering Effort goals in the region.

Burst Ammo can also be used to destroy a handful of regular rocks, usually ones blocking access to a “?” marker on the map.

Vines

Some regions also contain vines or a white mesh blocking access to chests or other objects. These require Slicing Ammo, obtained by completing all Pioneering Effort goals in the Sivash region.

Slicing Ammo can also be used to hit multiple buttons at the same time, needed for a couple of chest unlock puzzles.
