Lost Words: Beyond the Page Is a PlayStation Plus Premium Hidden Gem That Will Give You The Feels

Lost Words Beyond the Page PlayStation Plus Premium Hidden Gem

An amazing thing about some indie games is that they're short and sweet. Rather than hours upon hours of open-world gameplay, you have a succinct and touching storyline in Lost Words: Beyond the Page. You play as a young writer, platforming through her words in a textbook or within the worlds she creates.

Different scenarios like a reference to the credits of Star Wars are reflected in the notebook sections, making for some memorable moments  The watercolor look is gorgeous as you go through magical levels like a forest. Puzzles are thrown in as well, as you cleverly use words as your mechanic in Lost Words: Beyond the Page. We gave the game an almost perfect score in our review.

Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid Is a Fighting PlayStation Plus Premium Hidden Gem

Power Rangers Battle for the Grid PlayStation Plus Premium Hidden Gem

Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid may be low budget, but it succeeds as a fighting game due to its thorough mechanics and exciting Marvel vs. Capcom-like gameplay. You'll be playing as a variety of Power Rangers across the show's long history. From the classic Mighty Morphin Red Ranger to the Super Megaforce Yellow Ranger, there are many characters to play as, including villains like Goldar.

We wish this was the Super Edition, which includes all the characters, but unfortunately this is the base roster. Regardless, you should have fun as you take out foes online and offline. Oh, and you can summon a Megazord, which is pretty rad.

No Straight Roads Is a Rocking PlayStation Plus Premium Hidden Gem

No Straight Roads PlayStation Plus Premium Hidden Gem

If you love to listen to video game music on a consistent basis, you would love No Straight Roads. It's an action game that adjusts according to the music in-game. The level's platforming segments and bosses can change, based on the soundtrack. And while we're on the topic of the soundtrack, it's a glorious mix of both EDM and rock as the premise has a rock group trying to overthrow the rule of EDM in Vinyl City.

The tracks by James Landino, Funk Fiction, Falk Au Yeong, Andy Tunstall, and others are exceptional as they feature riveting melodies and guitar riffs to shake your fancy. The anime-esque art style also pops out on your screen as you come across all manner of fascinating bosses along the way. We gave this an 8/10 in our review.

Tricky Towers Is a Party Game That's a PlayStation Plus Premium Hidden Gem

Tricky Towers PlayStation Plus Premium

Tricky Towers is a strange alteration of the classic Tetris formula as instead of trying to clear lines, you're trying to pile them up. With your blocks, you want to create stable foundations and then build your way up to a high position. Otherwise, they'll all come crumbling down. However, there will be some obstacles along the way from your competitors.

For example, they can turn your blocks huge or turn them into an awkwardly shaped windmill. There's another game type that has you trying to fit as many blocks as possible into one space. These can be just as exciting. The cartoon-like art style is also pleasant to look at. The competition between players is entertaining and well worth a download on your PS4 or PS5 through PlayStation Plus Premium.

Telling Lies Is a Mysterious PlayStation Plus Premium Hidden Gem

Telling Lies PlayStation Plus Premium Hidden Gems

Developed by Sam Barlow, the creator of the critically acclaimed Her Story, Telling Lies is another FMV (full-motion video) hit that's available on PlayStation Plus Premium. You play as a mysterious hacker with stolen footage from the NSA, looking into the lives of four different people associated with an event. You're watching some intriguing footage and trying to find out exactly what happened to the characters of the game.

You'll be listening out for words that are said in each video and when you type them out, there's a possibility more videos emerge through a search engine. As you unlock these videos, you'll progressively found out more about the fates of these four characters. While the gameplay may be lacking by some, it's a unique style that will keep you hooked from beginning to end. Read our review for Telling Lies to find out more.

Bound Is a Visually Stunning PlayStation Plus Premium Hidden Gem

Bound PlayStation Plus Premium Hidden Gems

You won't find another game that looks like Bound, and with the hundreds of thousands of video games you can play, that's quite the feat. You play as a woman, thinking back on her childhood, in these visually impressive dream scenarios. Your character dances like a ballerina as she moves, and along the way you must solve puzzles and conquer platforming elements to proceed further.

The PlayStation Store listing says that "the introspective story unfolds through powerful metaphor and imagery, adding emotional depth to the protagonist’s journey." Without mentioning any spoilers, the storyline and visuals will surely take your breath away as you proceed through this beautiful game. If you have a PlayStation VR headset, be sure to try out Bound with it on as well.

Concrete Genie Is an Underrated PlayStation Plus Premium Hidden Gem

Concrete Genie PlayStation Plus Premium Hidden Gems

Concrete Genie is yet another striking game in the visuals department just like Bound. It tells the story of a kid named Ash, who is getting bullied by his classmates. His hometown is also in the dumps as its primary industry has run down in recent years. To help out the town and to continue his journey, you paint walls with your illustrative style.

You're painting monsters and all manner of magical objects that move with our paintbrush stroke. It looks absolutely stunning on screen and will enchant you from beginning to the end. If you love emotional storytelling and unique gameplay elements, Concrete Genie is a PlayStation Plus Premium Hidden Gem that you should check out. It also supports PlayStation VR headsets with its own separate mode.

MediEvil Is a Blast From the Past on PlayStation Plus Premium

MediEvil PlayStation Plus Premium Hidden Gems

The 3D platforming genre has blossomed over the past few years with hits like Super Mario Odyssey, Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, and Kirby and the Forgotten Land, but MediEvil shouldn't be hidden behind the spotlight. This unique PS1 horror classic shines on the PS4 and PS5 with bright visuals, a charming personality, and decent gameplay design.

The one thing pushing it back is the archaic camera system, but other than that MediEvil is certainly not a game to pass up on PlayStation Plus Premium. Perhaps, it could be the next game you put on your Halloween schedule in October. There's a demo you can play if you're intrigued, but you might as well download the game on Premium if you have the service.

Previously on our Best RPGs list for PlayStation Plus Premium's games, Indivisible is a fantastic JRPG-inspired title that combines the combos of fighting games, the depth of RPGs, and the thrilling platforming genre together. You'll also be engrossed by the epic story that's told within the game as Ajna vows revenge after the destruction of her village.

She will meet a lot of charming characters that will help her along the way; there are in fact over 20 you can play as. Indivisible is also fully hand-drawn, making its anime-like aesthetic really stand out. The voice acting is stellar too, with talents such as Cassandra Lee Morris (Persona 5), Stephanie Sheh (Your Name), and Matthew Mercer (Attack on Titan) playing different roles.

Check. Gravity Rush 2 has everything you'd want from an action title and surprisingly, it's still a PlayStation Plus Premium Hidden Gem. The action is exciting as you fly through the air, perform diving kicks, and use special abilities like throwing objects towards foes on-screen.

As Kat, you're defying gravity as you fly through the skies and walk on walls. It gives a distinctive experience to players, who want something different. You also have new stances that can be utilized in Gravity Rush 2, such as the heavy Jupiter style and the lighter Lunar Style, which each their own spins to the combat of the game. Gravity Rush 2 is engrossing with its anime-like style and gorgeous art design.
