Doom: The Dark Ages

Doom: The Dark Ages is the prequel to the Doom series reboot, and it promises to take a look at the Doom Slayer's origins. Things are going to get medieval as the game veers from the sci-fi aesthetics of its predecessors and explores a more fantasy-inspired setting.

Naturally, you're going to have to rip and tear your way through Hell's forces with a mix of new melee weapons and firearms. The most prolific addition to the Doom Slayer's arsenal is the Shield Saw, which (as the name implies) opens up a new set of defensive and offensive gameplay mechanics.

For the first time in the Doom series, you're also going to be given access to vehicles, including the massive mechs seen near the end of Doom: Eternal. This new feature is intended to help emphasize Doom: The Dark Ages' focus on the single player campaign.
