A spin-off game in the Darksiders franchise from THQ Nordic, developed by Airship Syndicate. Darksiders Genesis follows for the first time the adventures of the apocalyptic horseman Strife as he and re-curring protagonist War battle Lucifer and his demons in a top-down camera style. According to the game's official Steam and Amazon pages, it is currently planned for release in late 2019 on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. The game takes place in the world before first Darksiders game after the horsemen have waged a bloody and deadly war on the rest of the Nephilim in the garden of Eden. It will feature both 2 player co-op mode and single player story mode.

"From the dawn of creation, THE COUNCIL has maintained the Balance across existence. Carrying out their orders are THE HORSEMEN, Nephilim (powerful beings spawned from the unnatural union of angels and demons) who have pledged themselves to the Council and been granted immense power. However, this power came at a tragic cost: the Horsemen were ordered to use their newfound strength to wipe out the rest of their kind. What followed was a bloody battle on Eden where the Horsemen, obeying the will of the Council, annihilated the Nephilim.
Still reeling from the events on Eden, WAR and STRIFE have been given a new assignment -- LUCIFER, the enigmatic and deceptive demon king, has been plotting to upset the Balance by granting power to master demons throughout Hell.
