A modern reimagining of the action-adventure platformer Monster World IV, a game which first saw release as a Japanese regional exclusive for the Sega Mega Drive in 1994. Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World was built from the ground up with a new visual style and a whole host of modern gameplay improvements to bring the action of this otherwise forgotten entry in the Wonder Boy franchise to a new generation of gamers on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.
For Wonder Boy - Asha in Monster World, the original staff from the former Westone Bit Entertainment gathered together to create a game that stays true to the spirit of the original games. The team is led, and directed, by the creator of the Wonder Boy series, Ryuichi Nishizawa and supported by Shinichi Sakamoto (sound), Maki Ōzora (character design) and Takanori Kurihara (creative management).
