Insurgency: Sandstorm is a first person shooter developed by New World Interactive and published by Focus Entertainment. It was originally released for PC in 2018, before coming to PlayStation and Xbox platforms on September 29, 2021.
It aims to bring a more tactical experience to the FPS genre, similar to the original Insurgency. Combat is close quarters, with a low time to kill and HUD elements kept to a minimum. This realism extends to customization, with no overly flashy cosmetics and skins.
PvP is tense, and you must use all the tools you have available to succeed. A variety of weapons can cover different ranges and smoke grenades can hide your advance, with each corner potentially hiding a new enemy.
Outside of team-based modes, it's also possible to play 8 player co-op against AI. These modes allow for newer players to practice, while also offering a new experience for series veterans.
