Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX belongs to the Azure Striker Gunvolt franchise. The spin-off title continues the story of Gunvolt's rival, Copen. In this world, Copen vows to eradicate the Sumeragi Institute of Human Evolution and save humanity from extinction. Using his hover boots and lock-on bullets to dash through every stage, he challenges the various Adepts that stand in his way. His trusty companion Lola also provides him support by stealing enemy EX Weapons, expanding your arsenal as you complete the game.
Copen meets survivors during his adventures, and he eventually teams up with Kohaku and her gang of ragtag misfits. They do their best to survive in a world taken over by evolved humans. Meanwhile, Copen goes on missions to find resources for them while answering questions he has about the world.
