Age of Empires III came out in 2005, marking the last game in the Age of Empires series. Xbox decided the series has been dormant long enough, publishing Age of Empires IV. Developed by one of the only modern day RTS developers in Relic Entertainment, it promises to bring the classic series to the modern age.
Age of Empires IV will of course have multiplayer but will also feature a campaign telling the story of the Norman Conquest of England. Beyond the campaign, you can also take on the role of famous historical figures and live out the fantasy of their story, like Joan of Arc.
The game will also feature mod support, which the community will assuredly take full advantage of.
