Launched in 1998, Troika Games was the brainchild of Tim Cain, Leonard Boyarsky, and Jason Anderson who were all co-founders of the studio. All were veterans of Fallout, and left interplay after making a prototype for Fallout 2 to found their own company. Troika would release three games before closing in 2005: Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magica ObscuraTemple of Elemental Evil, and Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. All of these, for varying reasons, have become cult-classics with Arcanum's world and ideas, Temple of Elemental Evil's combat and Bloodlines writing being cited for each.
