Fans of JRPGs and cheeky self-aware jokes might want to take a look at Humble Bundle's newest selection of games. Titled the Humble Neptunia Bundle, you can lay claim to seven Idea Factory games for as little as $12. However, you'll want to act fast, because the bundle expires on March 4. Every game on the list can be claimed via Steam, and they all only play on Windows systems.
Pay $1 or More
For $1, you can claim three games, one of which gets some of its DLC. Amnesia: Memories stands as the odd one out in the entire bundle, being the only visual novel in Idea Factory's arsenal to show up. The game puts you in the shoes of a woman who, not surprisingly, has lost her memories, but she still gets to choose one of five anime boys to date.
Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 is a cutesy hack-and-slash JRPGs. You play as Neptune, a purple-haired girl who has hair clips that look suspiciously like D-pads. She travels through the world of Gamindustri, saving it from being ravaged by the dreaded Console War. She goes to the nations of Lastation, Leanbox, and Lowee, meeting with their Console Patron Units to discuss peace. Yeah, it's pretty on the nose with its references.
Re;Birth2 is fairly similar, although it has new characters and is set in a different universe from the first game. Expect to run into side characters like Falcom and CyberConnect2.
Beat the Average
If you pay more than the average, you'll get two games. Re;Birth3 picks up where the first two left off. Meanwhile, Neptunia U: Action Unleashed puts more emphasis on the hack-and-slash combat, playing more like a Dynasty Warriors game. Be wary though, because if you take too much damage, your character's clothing starts getting shredded.
This tier also comes with DLC for Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online, but the $40 game isn't part of the bundle. You'll get a 90% off coupon, though, redeemable through the Humble Store.
Pay $12 or More
Megadimension Neptunia VII continues the story from the Re;birth games. To up the ante though, new gameplay features have been added. Characters can team up for more powerful attacks, and some battles now feature giant enemies, changing the way you approach battles.
VIIR is an improved version of VII, built with a new engine and improved graphics. It also supports Vive and Oculus headsets with its added VR component, bringing the fan service to a whole new level of immersion.
The Humble Neptunia Bundle only lasts until March 4, so act quickly if these games have been on your wishlist.
