Today, GOG announced their Hot Sale, which includes a free game, more than 100 hand-picked deals, and The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt GOTY at 70% off, a historic low.

Distraint: Deluxe Edition, the free game that GOG has included in their sale, will remain free for the next 48 hours. It is a 2D, side-scrolling psychological horror adventure title, where an ambitious young man named Price seizes the property of an elderly woman in order to secure a partnership at a "famous company." A horror-novel style game made by one developer, Distraint is a short but sweet affair, lasting about two hours. Distraint 2, which follows up on Price's journey from the first game, is also available at 20% off.

Other notable titles in the sale include Divinity: Original Sin 2 (up to -40%), Frostpunk (-33%), Pathfinder: Kingmaker (up to -25%), Stellaris (-75%), Kingdom Come: Deliverance (-50%), Darkest Dungeon (-70%), Hollow Knight (-34%), ELEX (-60%), Phantom Doctrine (-40%).

Of course, while The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt GOTY is available at 70% off, the recently released Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is also available at a 25% discount.

Quick Take:

There are a lot of good games that are on sale. Divinity: Original Sin 2 is a title that everyone should try at least once, The Witcher 3 is fantastic, and Darkest Dungeon along with Hollow Knight are great titles that fans of either genre should check out. This Hot Sale seems to have something for every style of gamer, and if you've been disappointed by Steam's previous sales, maybe you should check this sale out and see if anything strikes your fancy. I'll probably give Tower of Time a go, it's really held my interest for a long time.

GOG.com's Hot Sale ends on January 30 at 11 PM UTC.

Have you played The Witcher 3 yet? Are there any other games that you've kept an eye on? Let us know in the comments!

A very unflattering picture of my tired face.
