Samurai, Red Mages, and new lands in the east await in next week Tuesday's Stormblood expansion for the popular MMO Final Fantasy XIV. Those who pre-order will get a crack at Early Access this weekend starting tomorrow Friday, June 16. If you need a copy of Stormblood there are discounts up to 18% off at legit retailers.
Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood Discounts
DLGamer
- Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood - Digital Collector's Edition — $49.49 (list $60)
- Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood Standard Edition — $32.99 (list $40)
- Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood Digital Collector's Edition — $49.79 (list $60)
- Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood Standard Edition — $33.29 (list $40)
The discount is pretty straight forward at DLGamer, but at GMG you will need to be a VIP member. There is nothing special about VIP members, other than you will either need to create an account or login to an existing one in order to see the 17% savings. Given you need to make an account before buying at virtually all other retailers online, this is a minor hoop to jump through.
If you do not already own the Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward expansion, the contents are included with Stormblood.
Is the Collector's Edition Worth it?

With the Collector's Edition dropping an additional $11 it may be a tempting prospect to buy the more expensive version of the expansion. Certainly, none of these are in-game items of necessity, but for big fans of the game - the few extra cosmetic item may be well worth considering. The Collector's Edition includes:
- Syldra Mount
- Wind-up Bartz Minion
- Chicken Knife
Note once again that these MogStation keys are NOT compatible with the Steam version of FFXIV AAR - so you're out of luck if you own the Steam version of the game.
