Dark Souls III may be a challenging game, but the price for the base game + all season pass DLC is not so much anymore. This week GameStop has the Dark Souls III: The Fire Fades Edition slashed from the original $85 (the original price of the main game + SP) down to $39.99 after $10 in savings. It's the cheapest way to date to pick up everything DS3.
GameStop does not have a similar discount for the Dark Souls III base game. It is listed for the full $29.99 list price, but we should keep in mind that this is a recent reduction from its original $60 list price (evident at online retailers such as the PlayStation Store). If you wanted the base game alone, you can get it cheaper but at no discount, so in our opinion, you might as well go with the Fire Fades Edition. Conversely, if you'd rather wait, the base game has been as cheap as $20 in the past, particularly during last holiday season and early this February for a limited time.
If you're a PC gamer looking for a deal on Dark Souls III, you have the exact opposite problem. On PC there are no good deals for the Dark Souls III Deluxe Edition (same content as the Fire Fades Edition). On PC it's listed for its full $84.99 price. Having said that, the Standard Edition is on sale at DLGamer with a drop to $22.99. That's a rare 62% discount is even cheaper than it was going for during the Steam Summer Sale at $23.99.
