If you're looking to have another go at The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and you want to start a new game, be advised: starting a new game will delete all of your old saves as reported by Destructoid.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the latest in the long line of games in The Legend of Zelda series. Released for both the Nintendo Switch and the Wii U, the game has done pretty well in reviews with a 96 on Open Critic and a 97 on Metacritic for both the Wii U and the Nintendo Switch versions of the game. Unfortunately, it seems that starting a new game comes at a price - you'll have to delete all of your existing saved data.

Polygon reports that the issue exists on both the Nintendo Switch and the Wii U versions of the game. If you really would like to have multiple saves, there is a solution (though it isn't quite ideal) - saved games in Breath of the Wild appear to be tied to your User Account on whichever console you happen to be playing on. Simply creating a new User Profile will allow you to start the game anew without putting your existing saved games at risk. Bear in mind that the Wii U is limited to twelve User Accounts total and the Nintendo Switch is limited to eight.

It's unclear whether this is a technical issue with the Switch or something related to the game itself. The Nintendo Switch currently does not allow you to save game data on anything other than internal storage. Nintendo may rectify this issue at a later date, but for the moment there's a workaround in place. In the meantime, if you're curious about what we think about the game you can check out our Quick Thoughts.

What do you think of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild deleting your old saves when you start a new game? Do you think that Nintendo should have included support for multiple save files in the game? Let us know in the comments below!
