Today a new Xbox One and Windows 10 Xbox app update has been released, the update is available to download it now. All of these changes have been available for Xbox preview members earlier this month and with the feedback the features are now ready for everyone. The changes were detailed this morning in a post on Major Nelson's Blog.
The first of the updates is that the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller will be getting increased thumbstick precision. Taking feedback from fans that there have been issues when moving diagonally. Working from this feedback a new method has been created to measure the position of the thumbsticks more consistently. Compared to the old method of calculating the position on a 2D plane this new method tracks the distance of the thumbstick relative to the center of the thumbstick base.
The second update is to the Xbox Accessories app on Windows 10. You will now be able to see details on your connected device. This will mean that when you plug in an Xbox One controller to Windows 10 you will be able to see information such as current firmware version, battery status, and more. This level of detail has already been available for viewing on the Xbox Accessories app on Xbox One for a while.
The next update is the ability to include the audio from the Twitch Party Chat in your Twitch broadcasts. This feature has been heavily requested since the release of the Xbox Twitch app and has been one of the top requested features on the Xbox Feedback website. If you are in an Xbox Party and wish to broadcast to Twitch then you need to enable "Broadcast Party Chat" in the Twitch app settings. If someone who is in your party declines having their audio shared they will still be able to chat in the party but just wont be heard in the broadcast. The streamer will also be able to mute any player that they wish from the broadcast. The shared Xbox Party chat isn't just for players on the Xbox One though as members who are in the party chat via Windows 10 will also be heard.
The final update and probably the largest is that you can now purchase and view Backwards Compatible Xbox 360 titles in the Store on Xbox One. Since the start of Backwards Compatibility there are now over 140 Xbox 360 titles that are playable on Xbox One. In the past you've had to either redeem the titles on the Xbox website or on your Xbox 360.
