Microsoft has announced a release date for their new improved Xbox One console, the Xbox One S. It was revealed that Microsoft was working on a more compact and updated version of their latest generation of consoles a month ago during E3. Now the new console is nearly ready for delivery with a release date of August 2nd.

The Xbox One S is 40% smaller than the Xbox One with a built in power supply offering a more compact version of the console. One of the three USB ports has been shifted to the front of the device along with the pairing button to be more accessible. An IR blaster has been added to the console and is also located at the front.

If you’ve pre-ordered the Xbox One S it should be arriving on August 2nd. If you haven't and would like to pre-order the new console it’s still available from Microsoft and other retailers but in limited supply. If you want one by August 2nd then you should order yours soon.
