Xbox One Holiday Bundle announced

Andrew Stretch / September 29, 2015 at 12:39 PM / Gaming, News

This is now the second day of Microsoft’s week of Xbox One bundle reveals and with it we’re getting a generic holiday bundle. Announced over at Major Nelson’s blog we get a look at the new bundle. If you want to see what bundle was announced yesterday then you can check out the Rise of the Tomb Raider Bundle here.

Unlike a lot of the other bundles that focus on a single game or franchise this new bundle focuses on some of the great Xbox One games. The Xbox One 1TB Holiday Bundle will include the following:

  • 1 TB Xbox One Console
  • Xbox One wireless controller with 3.5mm headset jack
  • Gears of War: Ultimate Edition
  • Rare Replay, featuring 30 iconic games from Rare
  • Ori and the Blind Forest full game download
  • Xbox 360 Gears of War collection, that includes Gears of War, Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3 and Gears of War: Judgement

This Xbox One bundle will be available on the 28th of October for $399. This collection offers great value for the price you pay with three Xbox One and three Xbox 360 games. In November backwards compatibility will launch allowing the Gears of War collection to be played on the XBox One. If you would like to see what our thoughts on one of these games were then you can check out our review of Ori and the Blind Forest.

This is now the second bundle announced for the week and we still have three more to look forward to in the upcoming days.

Quick Take

Another solid bundle, I hadn’t expected that one of the revealed bundles would just be a general almost ‘best of’ of the platforms. Including the Rare Replay is a great way to show off a great collection and give new gamers a lot to play. Including the Xbox 360 Gears of War games also allows Microsoft to show off how well backwards compatibility works. This bundle does a great job of showing all of the strong points of the Xbox One. If you count GoW: UE and original GoW as two separate games than this deal gives you 36 games.

What do you think of the Xbox One 1TB Holiday Bundle? What do you think one of the next bundles could be? What bundle would you like to see the most in the future?

I have been playing all kinds of games for as long as I can remember with a particular interest in action adventure and platforming titles. While I am primarily an Xbox gamer I also spend a fair bit of time on the PS4 and on my PC in VR.
